"Sexy MF" makes list of top Valentine's songs

msn.com today posted a Valentines Day top 20 of love and lust songs of all time. Our "prettyman" came in at number 6 in the lust songs with Sexy MF. Here's the list for both and URL:

LUST

1. "Let's Get It On" Marvin Gaye

When word went out to citysearch.com's music editors that this list was being compiled, no song registered more prominently than Gaye's ode to, for lack of more poetic language, "it." BUY IT!

2. "Lay Lady Lay" Bob Dylan

The phrase "big brass bed" is the most sensual act of alliteration ever popularized by this dark horse of a rock-and-roll seducer. BUY IT!

3. "I Need Love" LL Cool J

LL stands, famously, for Ladies Love. "I Need Love" cemented the sex-symbol status of the hip-hop nation's most polite ambassador, as well as his sensitive side. BUY IT!

4. "When She Begins" Social Distortion

"If you start me, start me, start me," sings Mike Ness, "you can't stop me, stop me, stop me." Figure it out. BUY IT!

5. "Passionate Kisses" Lucinda Williams

Mary Chapin Carpenter's better-selling rendition would probably make sense in the "romantic" category, but when Williams, its songwriter, lets loose in her gravelly way, there's no choice but to succumb. BUY IT!

6. "Sexy M.F." Prince

The song on this list most likely to erase the air of ambiguity from any date. BUY IT!

7. "I Want a Little Sugar In My Bowl" Nina Simone

The artist formerly known as Prince, he of "Sugar Walls" fame, learned something about shooting from the hip from this regal High Priestess of Soul. BUY IT!

8. "Good" Morphine

The band's leader, Mark Sandman, died early of a heart attack in 1999, but the subsonic, erotic throb of his bass playing will live on. BUY IT!

9. "Lover, You Should've Come Over" Jeff Buckley

When this gifted singer drowned in the Mississippi River, classic rock lost one of its most flamboyant preservationists. BUY IT!

10. "F.N.T." Semisonic

In the spirit of Michael Jackson's "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)," this neologism stands for "Fascinating New Thing," and it gives objectification a good name. BUY IT!

Just for the record, I can't go past "Just my Imagination" from Small Club as my all time fave Love & Lust song. That guitar solo can bring me to tears and turn me on!
