An auction at Sotheby's this Tuesday 3rd December, selling memorabilia from 'Stage and Screen', has three Prince items up for grabs:

"Lot 147 A Prince stage-worn waistcoat, circa 1999, black with white button decoration, zip front, 350-450 pounds stirling.

Lot 148 A 'gold' sales award for the single 'Purple Rain', US floater style, named to Prince for sales in excess of one million copies. RIAA certified, 400-500 pounds stirling.

Lot 149 A set of Prince's lyrics, circa 1983, on both sides of a piece of paper, part reading '...here come Holly wit a 20 sack Eyes mo red than Oscar Bonvena's back after Ali got up off that ass...' 20.5 x 26.5cm, 500-600 pounds stirling. "

All you Americans had better start that phone bidding. My money's on the lyrics.

I hear from a friend who was there that the waistcoat didn't sell! I guess it wouldn't fit too many people. So Mr Christian can have that waistcoat for his $1 bid. Congratulations.
