Foo Fighters cover Darlin Nikki

Don't know if this is old news or already known news. I just bought the new Foo Fighters CD "One by One." If you have the CD, you can go to the Foo Fighters website and get exclusive access to a FF bonus page. On the bonus page they have cover tunes from their favorite bands. This week's selection is Darlin Nikki by Prince. I think they change the song every Tuesday, so my guess is that Darlin Nikki will be replaced tomorrow (11-19-02).

Anyway, the song is covered true to the Purple Rain album version with a little more overdrive and guitar. The best part is hearing Dave Grohl mimic the Prince screams throughout the song.

I am pretty sure you gotta have the CD before you can get access to this song.

I'm sorry if I offend anyone but "PUH-LEAZZE" okay is said it, I'm sorry but some songs should not be touched and the same way when Mariah remade Beutiful ones and then had the nerve to include Dru Hill barf this is another great song that should be left alone

I like it! It's not bad for a rock version of the song and from the Foo Fighters.

I like their version of Darling Nikki and Mariah's cover of The Beautiful Ones wasn't bad either.

Aside from the occassionaly stiff delivery, I thought it was cool. Dave tried to stay true to the original :Woot: FOO woot!

Can't speak for Mariah, never heard that shit... neutral

I thought it was pretty good. It's not like they tried to cover housequake.

They've been in the studio and about to release a new album.

I like them a lot and they usually do good covers : sunshine of your love; burning of the midnightlamp; should i stay or should i go, but...

17 days could've been done much better
I feel pretty, that's enough

I hate, loathe and despise every single Prince cover I've ever heard. Mariah doing "The Beautiful Ones" has to be the very worst of them all. But this, this I like! I mean, it's not in the same universe as the original, but I think Dave Grohl is the shit. This was fun to listen to. Not that I'll ever do it again. smile

Dave Grohl (of the foos) is the bizznomb. This version is great.

And you're WRONG man! Chaka's "I FEEL FOR YOU" was WAY better than the original.

Ditto on Skinead's "Nothing Compares 2U" - it is better than the FAMILY'S version. The live one - it's a vegas rave-up of his original.

And lastly, how about "Oh Shiela"?

heh - just kiddin on that one man.

put your pants back up.
