Well it'd better hit my doorstep before then! But £51.99? Damn, that's expensive. The Americans were complaining about it being around $50 weren't they? I'm glad I won't have to pay that, even though I'll probably end up paying more for it in effect by being a member and stumping up £67 already. Who is going to buy this set at that price? I can't see casual Prince fans putting this on their Christmas list. [This message was edited Wed Nov 27 1:13:47 PST 2002 by SuperiorTe]

Prince has gotta sort that out. He tried with The Rainbow Children if u rememeber, NPG tried to contact stores that were adding IMPORT duty, but with no success. He seriously needs 2 bring the price down as u r right, casual fans will not pay that. That would be a shame as this is a fantastic opportunity show the normal music buying public what a great live performer he is. That's not saying he has 2 prove himself, just people r missing out if they do not hear ONA Live. For example, a friend of mine who has never seen Prince live came along to ONA in London. She was blown away. When she heard about the boxset she was very excited and could not wait 2 buy it. I told her the price and she flipped!!! She is now not going to buy it... Although if she is nice i'll burn her a copy. ----------
AND I GOTTA ALOTTA BUTTA 2 GO!

Except that it is NOT an import. This album is getting a w/wide release - I think it is just that expensive (I mean, at current exchange rates it is $80!!!) because he is anticipating low sales volume and the cost of using a small distributor will probably be less cost-effective than a major.
I'm still buying it, of course, but I think the price tag is going to hurt sales figures even further! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

So if NPGMC members don't get it before 12/2, we can sue them for breach of contract, correct? As we were supposed to get it first?

So $50 or £50 - there's NPGMC argument for the $100 membership being fulfilled =
$25 for ONA $50 for ONA live $25 for other benefits ? So is it WORTH that to you guys? 'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Prince is the best live performer I've seen, but he better pull some magic out of his ass on the Jay Leno show if he wants to get the attention of non-prince fans. I believe his Jay Leno performance will be a huge factor in his openning sales. When people find out that I'm a Prince fan, they say " does Prince still make music?',or"Prince who?" I kind of hope Prince does a mind blowing TV performance, and hooks the people that have no idea of how talented this man really is. He has this power to captivate people, and I hope he takes advantage of that gift. [This message was edited Wed Nov 27 8:01:28 PST 2002 by Everywhere]

Depends on if you went to any aftershows/ soundchecks pretty much- if not, probably not. Worth it for me however, since I'm a sucker for the music. But just barely. And I wouldn't do it for any other artist.

"Everywhere" - maybe we should email NPGMC ahd tell them what song(s) he should play on the show. Maybe for once he'll listen to his fans. I totally agree with you he needs to do something really speacial on the show if he wants to get the album noticed in America. I don't think he needs to do it over here in the UK, I think he's got enough fans, but I wouldn't mind him being on "Parkinson" for a whole hour. Anyone else think it'll be brilliant if he had awhole hour with Prince being interviewd by Michael Parkinson?

of course it ould be fantastic-but it will never happen-maybe on his death bed. It seems to me that however much P tries to justify himself with deeper meanings-I think he is deeply insecure-not as much as he was-of putting himself out of context. He seems to need to completely control his environment and is petrified of the unexpected. I also think Prince is still more wary of his height than we probably realise.

I didn't join, because I live in Istanbul and never thought I'd be going to see him. As it turns out, I did fly to London in the end and if I'd known he was going to tour Europe then I would have joined to recieve those benefits. So, if I was a member I wouldn't be complaining. But I'm just a 'square' (yes Prince you wanker - I heard the boot from the soundcheck), so what do I know? And by the way Prince, if you do read this, you wanna be careful about insulting fans who have followed you for many many years, spent loads of money on every single, album, video, concert, programme, t-shirt etc that you deigned to bestow upon us, but who don't have the means or the inclination to join your little club -by the sounds of it, your club may be getting smaller. The price of my flight to London alone cost 4 times the membership fee, but I'm not bitter - I still think you're the coolest mutherfucker on the planet, but don't push it.
