Prince records radio station advertisement

I live in Rochester, NY. Today on our urban station 104 WDKX, Prince
had a little advertisement for the station. In between songs he said
"What's up y'all...This is the Artist...Your listening to old and new
funk on Rochester's WDKX." I thought it was cool just to here him say my
home town station's name and the city of Rochester. They then played
Diamonds and Pearls...then the new D'Angelo and some Al Green. Too bad
they couldn't promote Rave some. Think it's interesting that he referred
to himself as the Artist...since he says it's a media created name. But
what else could he say i guess. I wonder when this was recorded...i don't
ever recall him performing here. The voice he used was the more urban
voice...say that he used when talking to Chris Rock. Has any one else
ever noticed how he sounds different around certain people. Not
criticizing...I'm sure i do the same thing.
