Wow, that's a pretty small company, smaller than Redline it seems. Prince is definitely going below the radar with this release. He's not flying below the radar on purpose, it's just that none of the majors will touch him anymore. That's absolutely right. None of the majors are going to give Prince a manufacturing and distribution deal while he maintains ownership of his masters. Especially not when Prince has a habit of bad-mouthing the company if sales don't go as expected. Some of this is the industry's fault, but lets face it, Prince has certainly burned some of his own bridges. Ever since the spat between Prince and Clive Davis/Arista that Prince so childishly made public, I knew that would be the last straw as far as Prince dealing with a major label again. You can't go around talking about how bad the industry is, but then come back and say "help a brother out". So, bigdaddy and other small labels are the only companies I expect Prince to be able do business with from here on out. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep, can't go badmouthing the industry, even when lots of what you're saying is true.
Since the recording industry as a whole and record labels in general aren't doing anything real spectacular right now, it's doubtful that Prince would even want to hook up with them again. Letting the small, independent distributors handle his music is Prince's way of supporting them. And I'd be willing to bet that even WB would want ONA Live on their label. But too bad, WB. You ain't getting your crooked mitts on this classic.

Wow, that's a pretty small company, smaller than Redline it seems. Prince is definitely going below the radar with this release. "Under the radar," or maybe he's just meant with the reality that a label that actually wants him & his baggage with his increasingly minimal returns is getting harder & harder to find.

Artist NEED to learn how to say no to these contracts. You are not my "friend" because you threaten my security.
