Jet mentions Princeville donation

There is a blurb in the January 31, 2000 edition of Jet Magazine. The short
article is as follows and includes a picture from the Jam of the Year press
conference....

"Princely Deed"

The artist formerly known as prince recently donated $37,000 to the
food-ravaged town that bears his old name, Princeville, in North Carolina.
The musician contributed that money after he read articles about the
devastation wreaked on the town of 2,100 by Hurricane Florida, which drenched
the region up to 20 inches of rain last September and heavily damaged or
destroyed 600 homes, Founded at the end of the Civil War by freed slaves,
Princeville is said to be the oldest town in the United States chartered by
blacks.
