Cartoonist apologizes for Prince reference in comic strip

Hi Matt, I wrote the guy who does the Non Sequitur strip and asked him
why the
slam against Prince. I said I thought it was pretty funny till the last
line... smile He
responded and gave me permission to post his reply
[emphasis added - MWC].

When I wrote that cartoon a couple of months ago, I didn't intend it to come
out as harsh towards Prince as it appeared. When I saw it in print today, I
realized that I screwed it up. It wasn't meant to say that Prince doesn't
deserve any respect, especially for his music.

If I had it to do over again, I would have simply left off the last line.
We all make mistakes. But rarely today does anyone accept the responsiblity
for their mistake. Well, I'm not going to be one of those people. It was a
mistake, and I apologize for it.
