Santana, Prince and Michael Jackson?

On VH-1's news segment this morning, Santana indicated that he is trying to recruit both Michael Jackson and Prince to appear on the same track on his next album.

Can anyone else really see this happening? First off, MJ and PRNs much touted (and presumed) relationship - secondly, I can't see either of these 2 egos responding to a "calling" from Santana. And who would have "control" of the track - even when Prince contributes to other artists albums, it is often said that he re-records the track and sends back his version (a la Waiting Room, No Doubt).

I'm not even sure that Santana/Prince/MJ is an interesting concoction!

i dunno
both prince and michael can do pretty good beatboxes.
then carlos can put one of his rushed solos over it.
sounds like an instant smash to me!

Pfff... Won't this guy ever give up?
Santana needs to concentrate more on his music instead of all these lame and shitty collab's he's been doing...

Well Santana did appear on MJ's invincible and "P" has admitted to liking Santanas style of playing in a very respectful way, but all three guys on the same song Hmmm seems like one to many super powers in the same room.

as you said Mindflux that sounds like ehat "P" would do,
a little his way with Santana on top with the strings.

This was kind of done on Santanas new album, a song with Seal done in Seal's style and does sound awesome.

Would like to see something with "P" and Santana though.

Rumors...
But this would be a collaboration I definitely don´t want to see happening.
Santana´s Supernatural Album was completely boring - just another album following the "producers + features of the moment" formula.
Michael Jackson doesn´t even have a studio on his Neverland Ranch, as far as I know, so I wouldn´t even consider him being a serious musician...
Regarding Jackson´s wish to do a collabo with Prince: Does anybody remember npgmc.com´s response quoting outkast?
"Sorry Ms. Jackson, I am for real..."
`Nuff said.
The contents and opinions expressed by MrHappy have not been approved for publication by Prince or anyone in his employ.

If they actually showed up, i think Santana could keep their egos in check to make a great song. On their own, i don't see it happening.
I actually think it would be good for the music scene to hear the two R&B legends finally come together. It's been too long as it is.

I think if ANYONE could coherse prince to duo with mj it would be santana! i really dont feel prince & mj are enemies, as such, so u never know... again, anythings possible with prince. mj would probobly approve of it before prince however. (LOL) i think that this is a venture that would be better done when the 2 of them are pretty much ready 2 retire, as it would be a never before seen/done kind of thing lots of people would love to get into, as they r 2 of the greats from the same era, & it would be a "last resort" for fame and fortune at the end of their very lucrative careers. i think madonna joining them in a threesome would also draw them in, and also being from the same era, would make it the "3 greats". i'd really like to see & hear the 3 of them together. at least for a few songs...
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses

That's the latest baby Michael bought. I guess MJ feels molesting children isn't putting them in enough danger. Now he hangs them over balconies.
I don't see Prince working with this psycho anytime soon.

Prince has chilled with Michael Jackson before.

Even been on the same stage with him.

They're not best friends. They do not hate each other's guts. They're just in two different worlds. And Jacko's world is WAY THE FUCK OUT THERE anyway, so...

Actually, Santana has been saying that he wants to see a collaboration between the two for a while now. He really needs to let it go, since P wouldn't do it in a million years.

Santana is an idiot. A great guitarist, yes, but an idiot.
He obviously doesn't know much about Prince's music.

Not that my opinion really matters in the big bad world of .org... but this seems like an interesting thread... Would Santana and Prince colaberate... I would have to say not under the terms of Supernatural... I couldn't see Prince agreeing to be a 'just another artist' But Santana colaberating with Prince, on a Prince album, I could totally see it, and I would buy it... as far as jacko? I don't think he would be invited... for two big reasons... Prince is trying despartly to leave that POP side of his fame so doing a song with Micheal Jackson would be very shocking...secondly... what would he do? sit and play table tennis again? Two Guitar legends (well one and a half)...clearly the song would be kinda funky...Santana would solo over whatever riff they worked out... It would stop on the one...then what Micheal grabs himself?

uh he said the same thing after supernatural, it never happened, i dont want prince affiliated with mj or santana's newfound commercial aspirations, i love santana, but this shit is pathetic, michelle branch, p.o.d, Musiq, it would be nice if a Santana album featured Santana,i hope prince does not go through this phase, you know the new prince album with, incubus, ja rule, jewel, ashanti, nsync, eminem, elvis costello, wu-tang clan, and kylie minogue

A collaboration with Prince, MJ and Santana probably wouldn't work because both Santana and MJ are tying to stay mainstream while Prince doesn't want that type of audience anymore and the promotion would probably get all fouled up. Plus I doubt Prince the artist will ever do a project as an artist on a major record label again and where would the song go? Whose album would it be on. It just wouldn't work for so many different reasons.
I'm an org elitist... totally unapproachable.

1) This "collaboration" is of NO benefit to PRINCE

2) Santana has turned into a gimmick artist

3) JACKO hanging a defenseless baby over a balcony with it's head wrapped up while wearing a surgeon's mask is DISGUSTING

4) this collaboration is just for Santana's EGO.

I agree, there is absolutely NO upside for Prince in this collaboration. If he performed with just Santana, it would be amazing.

If the collaboration with MJ didn't happen in the '80's, why the hell would it happen now?

I'm tired of people trying to get Prince and MJ to work together. They are SO different -- and not just in musical terms -- that it's really not even an interesting concept.

I Would Love it.3 Important Music Makers all doing a Song together would be interesting.after what MJ&Carlos did with "Whatever Happens" from MJ's "Invincible" I think this would be something else IMHO.it would make Pop Music History if done right IMHO.

Calmly, I would like to say that anyone supporting MJ these days is ... well, I'd like to think that ... maybe I just shouldn't say anything cuz I can't think of anything nice. So did you all check out the pictures of him dangling his child off the balcony today? It's just an embarrassing idea; like Prince appearing in a Backstreet Boy video or something. Not a good example, but ... Sure, MJ is a legendary fruitcake. Musically, what the crap could he add except his little noises and stuff? Well, everyone's got their tastes, but it surprises me that Santana is so out of touch.

Well, hang on now: Is MJ still a Jehovah's Witness?

If so, P might feel some sort of brotherly compulsion to team up.

NOOO WAYYY!!!

Prince would never put himself in such a vulnerable situation
with the media. The tabloids would go crazy if these 2 hooked up.

As 4 Carlos working with P alone, now that would b so fine...

As much as I love what P is doing now with his own Jazz fusion,
I can't wait to see him enterthe phase of Rock/Blues again.

You people love it to talk with no recpect about people who worked so hard for so many years. I have got that feeling that you did not understand anything that Prince wrote down over the years. I guess you like the songs with sexual lyrics and don't care about the songs which have been written for the important things in life. I don't want to know what you do when no one is around. Famous people can not hide from the media. They also don't respect human rights. They are happy when they get their money. They don't feel for other people. Don't be like them, is for your own protection.

By the way: Michael Jackson plays guitar, piano, percusion... . So you can not say that he is not a seríous musician.
