Krush Groove comin' out on DVD Jan. 14, 2003 The legendary 1985 hip-hop-themed movie "Krush Groove" is set for its first release on DVD Jan. 14 via Warner Home Video. Extras include the video for the song "Krush Groovin" (performed by the Fat Boys, Sheila E, and Kurtis Blow), the original theatrical trailer, and commentary by actor Blair Underwood, director Michael Schultz, and Source magazine senior editor Brett Johnson.
The movie is based on the life of rap impresario Russell Simmons and the early days of hip-hop culture emerging in New York. Man, Beat Street is classic 80s movie. I have tried to get this one from the vid store but they just look at me as if I'm some sort of refugee from a bizzare place. BTW, wasn't there a book of the "Breakin" movie where they had step by step instructions for doing each of their moves??? In a couple of hundred years historians may discover that Prince's lyrics were written by Christopher Marlowe. | |
