it didn't age well at all.interesting LL Cool J&Russell Simmons are both still going strong.you know a Label Head would last but a Rapper from that Competitive time period still in the Game? that speaks Volumes for LL no matter what side of the fence you are on with His Work. The Fat Boys in the Cafeteria still cracks me up.but Shelia E.was brought in for Star Power at the time."POP Appeal".just like New Edition. mistermaxxx

In my humble opinion Breakin' was the far superior movie. You gotta be kidding! "Breakin" was silly and corny, but "Beat Street" was great. It actually had a real storyline too.Although I admit,a few of the songs were dumb... "Us girls can boogie too"

"Us girls can boogie too" In the movie Breakin' if you know where to look you can see Jean-Claude Van Damme (quite possibly the worst actor ever) as an uncredited extra. He's dancing in a crowd in one of the street scenes. I just love finding famous people in roles before they were famous. . [This message was edited Thu Nov 14 15:00:12 PST 2002 by lovemachine]

Man, Beat Street is classic 80s movie. I have tried to get this one from the vid store but they just look at me as if I'm some sort of refugee from a bizzare place. BTW, wasn't there a book of the "Breakin" movie where they had step by step instructions for doing each of their moves??? In a couple of hundred years historians may discover that Prince's lyrics were written by Christopher Marlowe.
