Ed Byrne, the comedian that bought the Purple Rain tour guitar for 12 G's, took it with him when he appeared on C4's Rise programme on Monday morning. He gave up nearly his whole slot to talking about the guitar - he even mentioned that he couldn't believe Sheila E. had sold it (I can imagine the presenters thinking "...Who?") They got some guy on to play crappy pop tunes on it and Ed looked to be in physical pain.

It was pretty cool to see how big a fan he is. One of the presenters mentioned TMBGITW as his favourite and Ed did the "Really?" thing

when i went to see his stand up comedy act in auckland new zeland a few years ago the music playing in the theatre before he came on was crystal ball, i was well impressed, then in his act he did a joke about being laughed at at school for liking prince.

Prince gave Sheila one of his guitars & she sold it?!? You would think that it would have some sentimental value for her but...to each his/her own I guess!

Saw Ed live here in Dundee a few weeks ago, he's still great Pity I didn't get a chance to ask him if he reads the Org (I bet he does). I've seen him live back home in Dublin a few times too, in the Olympia last year I think.

Sorry I missed that bit on morning TV, my workmates were telling me about it when I arrived at the office. Sounds funny!
