Nighttown or Ahoy add. concert ticket sale on NPGMC ?.? Dear Prince Org,
See underneath for NPGMC answer on my question At 09:02 PM 10/21/2002 +0200, you wrote: Dear NPGMC Normally as far as I know, afterparties or shows are announced the evening itself, it's the most honest way and gives to all people a way to witness a 'special' concert. On the website of http://www.nighttown.nl, where Prince did an afterparty on the 10/15/2002, an aftershow is announced on the 11/02/2002. They even write that this week their website will announce how to buy tickets.?.?.and that Prince will play that night. I tought that the member could get in for free. Anyway if they announce this two weeks before the show, I'll and others get never the opportunity to see an aftershow. I dreamed for this for years... Could you maybe inform that all members can get it in that night?? Nighttown has a capacity of 1200 people, on the 10/15 there were about 1500 members at Ahoy Rotterdam. This means that they will never get in at the same time...+ it's a saturday evening, so all people don't have to work theday after. After all Prince said during his show, we are all one...I hope the concert will be not only for the 'strongest' people... Everybody that is a member + guest should be able to visit the aftershow, it's honest, we paid for it, and we all dream of it... Maybe I'm just panicing, or so, and maybe this is wrong information, maybe you should check the website of nighttown (it's in dutch), so maybe ask Candy... Love Michael Gillon Antwerp-Belgium High Plans r underway 2 add an additional concert 4 Rotterdam. When we have the details worked out, we will emale the members. As far as my info goes Nighttown's capacity is approx. 1100. And there were approx. 1200 member tickets sold for the 25th (not almost 1500)
Nonetheless i agree that if it's an 'aftershow' as such it should be free entrance for members (and 'guaranteed entrance' for their guests, who could be asked to pay a fee.) into the venue. Having members who already bought their nov 2nd tix buy overpriced(?) tix for this 'aftershow' on a undoubtingly crashing server is not cool. Unless they're talking about yet ANOTHER show, besides the Nighttown show.

Yeah - he's a real asshole for playing live and adding extra shows to meet demand. And why the fuck should anyone get in for free? Hmm? I don't remember VIP Aftershow Access being part of the offer for the measly $100 paid for membership!
I can't think of many other artists that have toured quite so much throughout their careers and generated so much interest (or even performed) with aftershows. I've seen Prince 31 times now and have never seen an aftershow. I've found out where 4 or 5 of them have been on the night, but not been able to get in. So, is that fair or, "the most honest way and gives to all people a way to witness a 'special' concert"? After seeing him 30 odd times, maybe I should demand a view from stage-right, eh? Jeez, you fools won't miss your water until the oceans run dry! ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

well, maybe you should check your facts, b/c aftershow access IS touted as one of the so-called benefits that we get as part of this year's MEASLY package. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

You can say many things about Prince, some are true, some are not, but his fans are definitely the most stupid whining and moaning bitches I have ever seen.

Actually maybe YOU should check your facts. They don't guarantee soundcheck or afterparty accees. In fact they say it's different in every city. TYPICALLY things go a certain way, but it's NOT guaranteed.

The reason y i dont think i will go to the aftershow is not because i have 2 pay for it. Last time i went 2 a afterconcert i had 2 stand in a line for 2 hours. But i did not mind. Its the whole npgmc thing that annoys me. Its the so called free the music thing that irritates me. Its not free. Prince is getting 2 greedy. Well maybe he always was greedy but it did not show. He is saying one thing but does the other. I only speak for myself when i say that he annoys me. I dont have to like the guy just because i like his music. Aftershows are overrated anyway, some are really great, some are just like the concert. Sometimes he just plays 60 minutes. Maybe its cause i seen it all before, i dunno. I just dont HAVE to be here anymore. free ur mind

This is my answer of de npgmc...
Hello There will be a members-only presale on r site 4 that show. It is considered a third concert in Rotterdam and everyone attending must have a ticket.

can people just stop your damn whining!! ...if u get in great, if not oh well...these aftershows r bullshit...it's like another bloody concert...no spontaniety
the spontaneity is the ONE thing the aftershow DO have that the regular concerts lack. I don't understand that comment at all. Given a choice between front row at the show or admission to the aftershow, I'll take the latter every time.

Hello There will be a members-only presale on r site 4 that show. It is considered a third concert in Rotterdam and everyone attending must have a ticket. --- Here we go again... NPGMC just can't seem to come up with anything close to being informative!! I'm a bit lost here too.. When they are speaking of an extra members only PRESALE, this does not acount as a 'regular' (read: free) aftershow following a full concert, as they stated on the site... So I'll be damned to see if they dare to have us pay on top of the nov 2nd show in Nighttown!!! !!! So, they may be talking about an extra (full?) concert, be it in the Ahoy or some other venue. But in my opinion it can't be another full gig, because he'll never sell enough tickets for that with a member only presale... 'Cause that means the rest of the buyers have to pay at the ticketcounter,...yeah right!!! So therefor I still like to believe the aftershow in Nighttown can NOT be regarded as the extra (to be charged)concert. And if it does... Heee...NPGMC!!! __________________________________________________

So what if he guarantees to play (what is not the case at usual aftershow/partys) an intimate club show only for the members with most probably a lot of obscure and new songs?
Wouldn't you pay for that even if the NPGMC said that typically all aftershows are free for members? Good for me, will be easier to get a ticket then.

Wouldn't you pay for that even if the NPGMC said that typically all aftershows are free for members? Good for me, will be easier to get a ticket then. Not in my book... Because it's downright stupid to charge us for the certainty only, and then again he always plays different stuff somehow when he does an aftershow, so that argument doesn't hold up either... To promote it to us as an extra show, just because it's being publisized and thus make it certain that he'll play is just not very classy and by no means justifies ANY extra charge for the members!! So again: extra full show? Fine! But any additional charge for Nighttown, even if he plays untill dawn is outrageous. Point made. __________________________________________________

i can't imagine prince playing ahoy for a 3rd time... booking nighttown as a third show instead of an aftershow is only to get people to pay more $.
i don't think it's that fair but i'll pay anyway... i think most of us do... npgmc is another matter... the best CD's will be in the stores also, so when prince leaves holland many people will quit as members... 4 cd's of which maybe 2 will be released to the general public are not worth $100... when he hits holland again, people will join only to get tickets... that's how it works, at least 4 me... but charging for an aftershow (which is 1 of the priveliges of being a npgmc member, will change my mind on that too... $100 is a lot of money 4 not many extra's...

i really do not know what to think about all this-
the fact is there only a few days to go and still there are no exact official news- just only "we may consider...". Many fams are going to drive a long way to rotterdam to see the show- so it´s only fair if the mpgmc give more detail information about the plans- I really can not believe that a small club like "nighttown" announces to sell tickets for a special prince event when even the official side did not announce anything yet... it took us long time until we signed up for a membership... but if things will go on like this i do not think we will not continue our subscription... and other fams will do so, too. We can only hope to receive more OFFICIAL DETAIL INFORMATION VERY SOON. So enjoy the next few shows in europe- have fun- don´t care about all those rumours going around the net until we hear the exact news...

I don't know what the situation is right now overseas, but I can tell you that when Prince did the two nights in Hollywood in April, it was the best experience I've ever had with the concerts and aftershows. He didn't announce the shows to the club members before the night of the show, and all the members were able to get in with their guest (some guests paid, some didn't). House of Blues actually sold tickets to the aftergig to the public, but the members were allowed first entry. I would hope the experience would be the same for all the shows. I can't say anything negative about it. [This message was edited Wed Oct 23 14:49:44 PDT 2002 by cracknbush] cracknbush

You just never know with these gigs until you get there. cracknbush

Someone of Nighttown was on Dutch national radio this afternoon saying that indeed Prince will do an aftershow there on Sat Nov 2nd and that only 500 tickets are available. It was unclear whether he meant 500 tickets in total or 500 tickets next to the tickets for all NPGMC members. He said they're talking to NPGMC about the organisation and to keep checking the site nighttown.nl for more info. There is no new info on there at this point.

I think it would be a nice surprise if Prince would play an additional concert in Rotterdam, Amsterdam or whereever in Europe (why not Vienna ??) It would give fams like me, who just bought tix for one show (Frankfurt) the chance, to see anotherone under PremiumMember-conditions ...
seufz, this gig was just too fantastic to wait for years for another event like this. Money don't matter this time!
