Paisley report Dec/17/1999

Just a quick eport on last nights show. Doors opened promptly
at 8:00. The big soundstage was all decked out with lights, cameras, decorations etc. Everyone had to read a release form consenting to be filmed before being let in. At 9:30 perhaps they filmed a stunt where a Morris Day lookalike double swung on a rope onto the stage and fell down, then Jerome revived him. Maybe 45 minutes after this the real Morris was placed in exactly the same spot on the floor and the band started their set. They did Jungle Love, then Ice Cream Castles during which a number of "sexies" were brought on stage. Then they did Cool during which The Artist appeared from bakstage to sing a verse!! And George Clinton walked on from the side and sort of pretended to be confused and wandered backstage. Oh yeah! and the Hornheads came out wearing big red boxing gloves around their necks!! They did a bunch more songs, someone can fill in the details (I'm watching my 21 month old son now and I have alimited amount of time to get this done!)

There was a long set change and fromabout 12 to 1 was a jam featuring NPG, Larry Graham (with Jerry and Cynthia ex- Sly/Family Stone), The Artist, George Clinton, Hornheads, and Maceo Parker. They did Free, The Jam, Come On, George Clinton raps, Thank You..., I Wanna Take you higher and some other stuff. The Artist said "we're just foolin' around 2night, come on back 2morrow for the real show"

Anyway.... So I think that was the taping for the Time. We were told to pretend it was New Years Eve and jump around, makw a lot of noise etc. 2night shoud feature Artist/NPG, Larry, George, Maceo, Lenny Kravitz, Mavis Staple etc. Can't wait!! Oh yeah... George was good and didn't cuss but Morris had a potty mouth saying s--t and f--k numerous times. ALso many songs played by the DJ had tons of cussing in them (such as Days of Wild and The Exodus Has Begun as well as stuff by others like Busta Rhymes) Must have loosened up on that policy?
