Speaking of changing names, Ginuwine, whose real name is Elgin Lumpkin, revealed that he was contacted by the Artist following the release of his 1997 hit cover of Prince's 1984 chart-topper "When Doves Cry." Said Ginuwine, "Prince heard [my version of] 'When Doves Cry' and said he liked it. That was great for me; that was a real big thing coming from Prince."
