Grace Slick treasures the rock 'n' roll stories her ex tells about Prince. Slick, a legendary member of Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship, was here over the weekend promoting her next legendary field of endeavor -- her art. On Saturday she shared stories culled from her ex-husband Skip Johnson's days as a production manager at Paisley Park. Johnson now handles some of Slick's business matters. There's the funny story about how Symbolina would communicate with a band member to whom he was not speaking. Symbolina would call Johnson over "and tell Skip whatever he wanted to tell the guitar player, and then Skip would go over and tell the guitar player that," Slick said. "There's nothing wrong with that, but it is screwy. Definitely unusual." If this kind of screwiness takes up recording time being paid for by somebody else, "then that's rude. But it's his studio, it's Paisley Park, Prince's band. He can talk to them in Japanese and hope they understand. He's just unusual, as far as I can tell." And not a good planner, as I can tell from this story about the gold mike. It was reportedly the middle of the night when Prince decided he needed the gold mike the next day at Paisley. Of course, the mike was in L.A. "So that means an airline to L.A. and then get the gold mike and fly back as soon as you can," Slick laughed. "I love those stories because it helps me to kind of equalize the thing. There's crazy stuff that's gone on with our band, too. So you always like to hear stuff about other people's bands. You can say, Good, they're all just as crazy as we are."

come on folks, shes a gossip reporter..this is her job...and dont slam Grace Slick now either...this is just part of being in the entertainment industry...this is a cute harmless story and Grace seems to respect Prince and counters that her band was just as crazy...

Honestly. Just be glad that someone still finds Prince worth talking about.

It's really ridiculous...for CJ to be referring to Prince as Symbolina. I think it's immature, unprofessional and really, like she has some serious issues with Prince.

There are bigger things to be angry at. I think it shows where her soul is at. Sad really.

First of all, if you're going to TRY to speak ebonics then at least use the "correct" broken English.

It's not DISH, its "DIS"! fool!!! Since I've heard the term being used incorrectly before, for those of you who do not know, "dis" is short for "disrespect". I have no clue as to what "dish" means.
