Candy Dulfer was interviewed by telephone on a Dutch radiostation, because it was her birthday the 19th of september (she turned 33).
She talked about how busy she is at the moment. She'll go on tour with Prince, Dave Stewart and Van Morrisson the next few months. She has just made a CD with her father Hans Dulfer and has to do promotion for that album. In the middle of all this she is recording her own new album.

She was, as usual, asked about Prince. Candy said she and Prince got on very well, because they both have a good sense of humour and they both are obsessed with music. Asked about the upcoming tour, she described her experiences with it in the USA. She also said Prince does not like to be rejected. To prevent rejection he let's other people test the water first, before asking Candy to do something. Once it went wrong and Candy had to say she had no time. This surprised and angered Prince.

Candy also mentioned that Prince often phones in the middle of the night, apparently not realizing that 7 PM in Minneapolis means 2 AM in the Netherlands. She said that, although it is a bit annoying, she had stopped trying to teach him about time zones. Prince already has trouble with day and night in his own timezone, she said, let alone the timezones on other continents.

She concluded by sharing the fact that her main birthdaygift had been a folding bike she can easily take on the train when she visits Amsterdam.
