Well, you couldn't accuse it of being cheap but that's typical of Prince. I suppose I should be grateful because concert tickets were even more expensive in the U.S.
Can anybody tell me who has seen this tour how long it lasts and if the soundcheck is worth going to? £60/£65 does seem a bit steep to say the least. Otherwise, I might just go for the cheap seats. Whatever ... I'll be there in Manchester.

Whatever ... I'll be there in Manchester. It lasted almost three hours and the soundcheck is DEFINITELY work attending. It was the BEST part of the night. You really need to experience at least once. Has everybody read the small print?
"Soundcheck access is not guaranteed every night and is based on the needs of the per4mers"

"Soundcheck access is not guaranteed every night and is based on the needs of the per4mers" while that is true, there were very, very few times when a soundcheck was skipped. almost never. but they say that to cover their ass. and I don't blame them. there are a million things that could go wrong and prevent a soundcheck from happening. i'm surprised he did it so consistently on the last several legs of the tour.

Stop whining! Prince isn't an average performer to see, he's one of the best performers alive today.
I saw him in Toronto, and would pay much much more to see that show again. I didn't think Europeans were money-obsessed like us North Americans. I have no problem paying independent artists (painters, musicians, whatever...) for their art if I really like it. As long as the money is going to the artist. Cheers, and enjoy the show! We know u'll all be going. =P

If Prince cares about his fans, then ticket prices shoudl be far lower. I saw him in Toronto, and would pay much much more to see that show again.
Then you're an idiot. I'd rather spend my money on several artists than on one. I have no problem paying independent artists (painters, musicians, whatever...) for their art if I really like it. As long as the money is going to the artist.
This tour is organised by ClearChannel, owner of so much of the radio stations Prince hates. In fact, I've recently read an article that predicted that ClearChannel buying local European concert promotors would result in substantially higher ticket prices. Translation: It's CC that is making the big bucks. There's no need for Prince to charge stupid money, except greed. FACT. © Bart Van Hemelen

There's no guarantee that these concerts will last as long. Don't forget that only LATER dates in the US tour were up to 3 hours, the first one were barely 2. And I wouldn't be surprised if soundcheck access isn't happening at some of the European dates, let alone aftershows. © Bart Van Hemelen

I agree that it is bloody expensive - I have just gone part time whilst financing myself through my MSc but I will eat beans on toast until Christmas if it means I can see the man.
I'll be there in Manchester on the Monday! See ya there
