This is a second hand report passed down from my mother, who witnessed it. Yesterday, during the halftime show of the Southern/Grambling State football game, they had their traditional "battle of the bands". She didn't tell me which song Southern played, but Grambling busted out with "1999" and I was told, rocked the house.



Now, for those of you who attended a black college or university, or who have witnessed a black college band at a game, you know they are LEGENDARY for getting down. They don't just play their instruments, they dance their asses off. My mom told me this was no exception. They kicked "1999" with a passion, bodies, instruments and everybody was getting down.
