European tour dates additional info Hey, I just wanted to add some info on the tour dates. Seeing as i can't yet post to the org myself (registered less than 5 days ago), I’ll try to get some more info out this way. These are the dates as I know them. No spelling errors this time 2 okt Birmingham 4&5 okt London 7 okt Glasgow 8&9 okt Manchester 12 okt Cardiff 14 okt Frankfurt 16 okt Rotterdam 18 okt Brussel 21 okt København 22 okt Oslo 24 okt Ålborg 25 okt Stockholm 27 okt Berlin 29 okt Paris I was lucky enough to stumble onto a piece of paper committing Candy Dulfer to play with Prince on these dates at these locations. I just tried to get the info out as quickly as possible. My information is also that a lot of venues are already booked. The only thing I know for sure is Ahoy in Rotterdam, the venues named on http://www.prince.org/msg...&tid=21058 are pretty much in line with what I’ve seen. My personal interpretation is that Prince will play *with* band (ONA!). Also, keep in mind that these are dates where Candy is booked. It doesn’t seem unlikely that Prince will play some gigs maybe in November with Maceo… maybe Spain after all "this especially prepared potato is called pomme de terre"

I'm from Denmark, and I'm very happy to see he's visiting Copenhagen.
But the 24th oct. gig in Ålborg is strange. Ålborg is a town in nothern Denmark with just 100.000 citizens. Miles Davis played there once in the mid-80s, but there has never before been a rock/pop concert of this size there... ..said jalokin, the Danish geezer.

Maybe Spain after all... Thank you... let's see if he finally comes to Spain, maybe in november... We are all waiting for him and the band to come over. There are many spanish people who won't be able to make it to any of those europeans cities, people who've been waiting for him to come for four years. I hope he includes at least one date, not only here in Spain but also in Italy. Thanks once more

Has anyone been able to confirm or deny this info yet?
It's been around for a few days now but the actual 'truth' value is still unknown. :-/ udo Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

But yeah I agree with Jalokin, Ålborg is far away from Copehagen, and honestly why would he go to Oslo right after Copenhagen and then after oslo then Ålborg and then to Sweden?? But well if this schedule is true then I'm just more than happy!!

..and then once you're done in Europe, Come down To Australia Nov/Dec/Jan for an Australian summer.
(Although, when I come to think about it, Australian promoters will be very hesitant to bring Prince out around this time of year because of all the summer festivals like Rumba, Homebake, Big Day Out, etc, all those moron promoters would think that because everyone will fork out money for those festivals, they won't spend money to go and see Prince). (Prince. To combat this though, book large theatres and have an up close and personal concert, they'd probably go for that). Xperience the Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com/

Paris is not my only chance but one of the dates I was trying to 'verify'. Since he'll do smaller venues (he only did Le Zenith for the whole of France in 1998!) I don't know what venue he'd choose for this tour for Paris... Le Zenith can be made smaller I noticed from their site, but who can tell the venues that go with the dates mentioned? udo Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... This could still be a complete wind-up. Where and when did you 'stumble' upon this piece of paper with these tour dates on? Prince's office? If you are going to post information like this on here why be shy about where and exactly how you came upon this info?
I'm not going to get too excited, yet about this alleged tour. I still don't believe he would play 2 shows in Manchester or a Cardiff show.

Well, i do believe that time after time Prince gets more appreciated it in the UK. Nothing to do with chart toppers and so, but something like people are aware of his TALENT when it comes down to music. Perhaps a mighty concert promoter thought all those supposed UK dates would do fine.
NPGMC where are you now ???

Hello there, My goodness, what is the average age of you all. You all sound like Jesus is coming (hallelujah). Haven't you got anything more to do than talking about dates which are not confirmed yet, but are just speculations? Just wait and see what the NPG club will tell us. I know that is very difficult, especially for people coming from the netherlands and i am as anxious as most of you but it is too stupid for words to see people spending so much time on this site with questions like: 'when is he coming?, is it confirmed yet? blablala... Sorry for the tone of this message and i do not want to offend anyone but i couldnt ignore the sillyness of most of the messages placed on this board. regards

I'm 31 and I do have a little extra knowledge but I still have my doubts about this list of dates.
I'll let me friends know just in case, but I really need extra conformation. udo Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.

Well, Rafael...Haven't you got anything more to do than talking about people who are talking about dates which are not confirmed yet, but are just speculations? For some reason, I doubt you will get what I'm trying to say. The obvious seems to elude you at times

Ooooh right, i should not have responded to your message, so this confirms that i do not understand your message... Pretty smart remark coming from a non american isnt it?? Anyway, i didn't mean to criticise, but people are very impatient these days and that is what really bothers me... aren't there no more important things in the world to worry about?? Why not relax and just wait... All the best to you TonyC...

Some of us cannot get a few weeks off at such relatively short notice so they want to know for sure ASAP. Some of us are just hardcore enough after about 4 years of waiting. Etc, etc, etc. But all this is getting way off-topic. The thread was about the dates. The real issue here is: are they fake or are they (partly) true? udo Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... God damn, I just accepted the org-rules! This rules! Does this mean than I'm an un-official member of the New Power Generation? Welcome 2 the lawn.
Mercy, I feel so excited about this whole European tour-thing I'm _this_ close to joining the dreaded c-l-u-b... Should I?? Do I know my Paisley Park well enough?? Do I need to get my Mellow on badly enough?? Fuck as - I'm goin! Ima club up and laugh at my former nay-saying self from the first row moah-haah!!! Later all!

Oh! And I spoke to Gunnar Eide, the biggest CONcert promotor in Norway, and they said the posted date sure was real enough for them. They said they placed a bid on the alleged visit-date, and altho they couldn't say 100 %, they were very optimistic about the whole thing.

I just got an email from Vorst Nationaal, the most probable venue in Brussels for Prince 2 perform, and still available the 18th. They stated they were not aware of the posibility of such a concert. So i guess it's wait&see. "It's better 2 B hated 4 what U R than 2 B loved 4 what U R not."

Err... hello, me again. Yo, I been to the club-pages and checked out the in-foe on the membership. Got a question, tho, can you guys help me?
When I pony up $100 for my 2002 membership, is that only for 2002? Cause that can't be! Do one pay one hundered dollars to be a member for four months? Help me out, please!

I´m with U SANDRA. I´m very happy if this is true, but it seems a bit strange. And I think that this list might B a fake. Why Oslo before Sweden when U have been to Denmark, and why going back to Denmark in between?? But if it´s true, then I´ll go 2 both Stockholm and Copenhagen. Well...we have 2 wait and see. Peace! /Michael

He's supposed to be in Paris on the 29th of October but on that day, the three venues where he could have played (logically) are all booked!

Prince isn't coming to Europe unless there's a big pile of money waiting for him. So he'll play decent size halls, and not small clubs, because no promotor is gonna be insane enough to risk investing in a "small" concert with huge ticket prices for someone who hasn't had a hit album in ages nor was very convincing last time around. Asking 50 euro for a ticket will be a lot already, and Prince ain't gonna tour Europe for peanuts when he can catch a lot more in the US. © Bart Van Hemelen

I was referring to the situation that if he played the full Zenith in 1998 and if he would play smaller venues now I wouldn't know what venues would apply. But I see that you think he'll probably still do 10.000 seat places now? The 50 euro is a guesstimate for the ticket price? Or is that amount based on real info? udo Pills and thrills and daffodils will kill... If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry.
