Do we need to take up a collection for Prince? Can't the Artist Blah Blah afford to pay the mortgage on his Bridlepath digs?

Is that why he refuses photo ops with fans unless there's a payoff? Does he need the chump change for his fries habit?

Prince dropped by the Blues On Bellair club Tuesday night, where he was approached by fans who asked to have a photo taken with him.

Prince demurred, protesting, "I get paid to have my picture taken." With that he turned on his platforms, heading south to Acqua on Front. St., where he dined with his wife in a private room, drinking his Merlot through a straw.

Why do news reporters start this garbage? Note that the fans wanted photos "with" him, and if Prince said anything, he didn't "protesting"-ly say it. And if the dining room was "private" -- how do we know Prince drank his Merlot through a straw? And why the focus on his "platforms"? I thought the Toronto Star was at least a somewhat-respected newspaper. What's up with the gossip?

I figure the girl who won the contest in Sheridan Wyoming in '86 probably had her picture taken... I would say that's probably it... I'm sure that was his sarcastic way of saying no. The paper loves to jump on shit like that.

I'm glad I don't let these stories define Prince for me. True or not, not wanting to have your picture taken doesn't make you a dick. Punching someone in the face for asking, now that's a different story.
These types of stories have been around for years. I wonder how many are actually true.
Whenever I've seen Prince in person he's been pleasant and friendly. Funny, how only gossip reporters see the mean side of Prince. Hmmm.

I'm baffled by the whole wine drinking thing, both with Prince & Mayte. Hey, I'm a wino myself, so that ain't the issue...but, I seem to recall some interviews they did, saying that alcohol ruins the temple/their "instruments"/bodies, blah blah. Were they just a bad influence on each other, trying to be perfect?

Well, I never realy want to know the real prince...that's if he realy is a Dick...I have this imaginary friend (Prince) and he is realy nice to me . I like to keep him that way.

I don't even know what to say about this silly-ass shit...

I would like one thing explained though: "fries habit"??? I expected them to go on to say that he skipped across the street for some fries, but they're talking about Merlot w/ a straw (how about some ice & a lemon wedge too - DAMN!)...

I don't like my picture taken either. And I'm not even famous.

This is a rather nasty article on Prince. True or not who really cares about this? I certainly don't and Merlot is an excellent French wine. I also don't like photos and I'm not Prince. People are always trying to paint an ugly picture of a Beautiful Man. This makes me cry. Damn Journalists.

I love the thought of Prince drinking Merlot through a Straw. He really is his own man, and does what he wants rather than what is expected.

it was supposed to get u drunk quicker.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Merlot has a "cherry" base. It's one of my favs.

Rita isn't nearly as bad as CJ. She used to be more professional than this, but I guess that's what happens to entertainment reporters after many years.

Rita Zekas is, in my opinion the Canadian National Enquirer "source". How do we know that Prince wasn't joking about the paid for pic comment. After all, he does have a very dry sense of humour.

Rita makes it sound like Acqua is across the street when it's a good 10 -15 minute drive away from Yorkville. Sounds like B.S. to me unless she had some little dweeb following him which is difficult to do in Toronto traffic.

Sipping his merlot? Again with the assumptions, how does she know it wasn't cranberry juice? Also, if he was in a private room, how could anyone see? Honestly, it seems that some of these journalists only like to report as they call it, on the gossip and inuendo. Pathetic.
