Yeah, I've just recieved this email too. Looks good. Finally some good news from NPGMC.
But still absolutely no info on the site though. What's up with that?! And in the "Ur account" section it still only lists the 'old' ONA cd, so the ONA LIVE is definately not shipped yet. Another new thing: White Cloud Guitars (as Prince preferred ca 1984-88 ) is on sale in the member section too, it says: WHITE CLOUD GUITAR Now u can own a replica guitar of Prince's world famous White Cloud Guitar, as seen in the Purple Rain feature film. This classic guitar is manufactured by Schecter and is suitable 4 playing. Available with a bolt -on neck or set neck. $1,000.00 ...said jalokin, the Danish geezer.

Yes but WHEN!
Just wondering if Prince's bank accounts are in overdraft by now. To keep releasing CD's that the masses don't buy, touring around and all the overheads he must have - how is he surviving!? It's great to have a live album finally for us lot, but when/if it does get released by a label, is it going to be another album from him the masses don't even know or care about that will end up in the bargain bin? Especially a more expensive 2CD set. Although I can't wait to get it I think Prince should just bite the bullet, sign a record deal and make a HUGE, kickass comeback, and show the world how great he really is.

I thought the CDs were to be exclusive 4 the members...

The question is..."Are you a fan?" If you are and you enjoy the music that Prince is releasing, then what difference does it make what "the masses" like and don't like. Just be glad that you're able to get the music that you want. I'm assuming of course that you still like and want Prince's music. If you don't then that's a whole other issue. It's great to have a live album finally for us lot, but when/if it does get released by a label, is it going to be another album from him the masses don't even know or care about that will end up in the bargain bin? Especially a more expensive 2CD set. Again, why are you so concerned about the masses??? I've seen Lovesexy in the bargain bins... so what's your point??? Although I can't wait to get it I think Prince should just bite the bullet, sign a record deal and make a HUGE, kickass comeback, and show the world how great he really is. What have you been smoking? It seems like you're much more concerned with what others think than anything else. A comeback??? A comeback from where? When Prince came out with Diamonds and Pearls in 91, I bought a magazine with him on the cover (I think it was Rolling Stone) and the lady behind the counter looked at the magazine and said "Oh... Prince is making a comeback!" As if he had stopped producing music for ten years. I didn't say anything, I just looked at her, because I expect such comments from non-fans. But when I hear the word "comeback" from a so-called "fan" I'm just amazed. You say, to "show the world how great he really is"... but my point is, is such a thing really necessary for Prince? What does Prince have to prove to the world? -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My friends, everyone reads what they want in to these messages from the club... I think if you read this message, it is clear that this box set will not be part of the 4cd's mentioned in the membership. The first lines read "As always, NPG Music Club membership grants U the right 2 b SERVED FIRST. This Special Edition Box Set will b serviced 2 the rest of the world at a later date."
"grants U the right to be served first"? This message is saying that it will be on sale like the tickets for the concert to memebers first, then the public. This one ain't free people! Our next selection will be Xenophobia I bet, not the live stuff either. I thought Xenophobia was a studio album anyways!? Just how I read it...

Prince really does seem to be listening to his fans these days:-
A piano album... check! A live album... check! Don't destroy the live albums with overuse of overdubs! They even listened to that one! These are good times, my friends...

What does Prince have to prove to the world? Man..., I'm a Prince fan as long as I remember and I'm really grateful about what he's doing right now, with the NPG Music Club and Xenophobia and all, but the one thing that's buggin' me is that nobody knows! That's why he should make a 'commercial comeback', because almost nobody knows what he's doing right now and the kids out there don't even know he exists! "What? You mean the Purple Rain guy? He's still playing? Then why don't I see him or hear about him?" And then I have to play some stuff to back up my claims! Okay, he's got control now, but at what cost? He'll never get a new fanbase this way, which is a shame 'cause he and his music and the funk in general deserve it! You got Anastacia's new album? Everybody who does, knows that the best songs on there won't get released as a single because it's not commercial enough, but she'll still get the respect and the fans because first you get curious by the singles and later you get blown away by the rest of the album! And that's what Prince should consider! I'm not talking about going back to the old situation, but just once, let everybody know you're still outthere, better than ever, with a commercially released radio friendly song and his fanbase will double in a month! Just look at Bruce Springsteen... I'm out!

I have three words for Prince that should solve ALL his problems: AYCHE BEE OWE ...
we all know he would blow away anyone else that's ever done it!

well, well, confusion pure, again, not including in the rest of the 4 cds? maybe, good point though, but i don't see the goal of releasing this worldwide (with who? btw? label) even this might b a smart decision (and the world should know about prince's perfect live per4mances!) - what is about this 7cd set? just a rumour and what is with xenephobia cd? with candy dulfer? wha what, what, i know.. sould b more patient like always
but what i wish as most is: prince release the shit as well on dvd!! u can do that.. it must b great seeing ur performance.. form the us.. especially cos we (poor europeans, australians and asians) all have 2wait 2 cu live again... deliver the sugaaa soon, we can't wait any longa... DVD, -don't 4get - add this 4 ur members - then i see a big difference in being a member (and paying u 100 bucks a year...) what do u all think? -------------------------------------------------

I'm confused...
Is it a 2CD set which includes both "One Nite Alone Concert Tour" plus aftershow songs -or A 2CD set of the ONA Tour plus an additional CD(s) of the aftershow songs. I would imagine the first...but the e-mail seems to be not worded very clearly.

Sweeet!! This cd set makes the $100 club membership worth it! Dang!! Now I guess I have to go join tonite. I hope he does release a companion dvd. That would just complete it! Love God and I shall 4ever Love u

This is very caring of Prince to do, to let his fans/fams
hear a "live" performance, especially for those who can't always get to concerts. Thank you!

Speaking of boxed sets...That is my only problem of Prince not having a big record company like WB behind him. Imagine the sort of stuff that we'd be getting if Prince stayed with them? All the other rock n' roll greats have some amazing box sets coming out now. Imagine if something like crystal ball was released through WB? I'm talking on pure aesthetic levels here people. I'd just love to see a fantastic collection of Prince music put together with great packaging, booklets etc...
But I still love the NPGMC!!! "I have a date with Lisa. Isn't that wonderful?"

Hope this goes on sale in the members section soon.
I do not want this to cover the rest of the years cds. This should be an extra that we can buy separate because we are members. Prince - we've waited too long for this - please don't screw us.

I'm not talking about going back to the old situation, but just once, let everybody know you're still outthere, better than ever, with a commercially released radio friendly song and his fanbase will double in a month! Just look at Bruce Springsteen... I'm out! I will agree that without the deep pockets and connections of a major record label, almost everything Prince does right now goes unnoticed by the masses. So, yes, if there is one thing that Prince doesn't have right now, it's the exposure that a major label could give him. But for Prince as an artist and even as an entertainer I'm really hard pressed to find a good reason for him to go back to major label. Now on the other hand, if the record companies were willing to change the rules of the game and allow artist to have a much greater "piece of the pie" to include ownership of their work, then perhaps what you and some others are suggesting would make sense. Personally, I believe the glory days of Purple Rain are gone and it really doesn't matter if Prince is with a major label or not, he will not sell the volume of records today that he did nearly 20 years ago. Sure, he may get lucky with a hit record ala The Most Beautiful Girl. But for the most part, those days are gone and here's why. The people that are buying the majority of the music are mostly kids and kids have their own group of up and coming artists that they are interested in. Sure, a handful of kids here and there may latch on to Prince and become fans, but I'm talking a very, very small handful of people. Prince is a legend, and I believe most young music lovers respect Prince for who he is as an artist but that respect doesn't necessarily translate into record sales. For instance, I recognize B.B. King as a Blues legend who I have great respect for, but if B.B. King came out with a new cd tomorrow, I know I'm not going to buy it. But as an artist, B.B. King doesn't have to prove anything to me or the rest of the world for that matter, and that's the point I'm trying to make about Prince. You mentioned the success of Bruce Springsteen as an example. But come on, when was the last time Bruce Springsteen released an album? Now that one has finally been released, I think most people that buy it will buy it out of curiousity more than anything else simply because the promotion of the album will be crammed down our throats. But lets see what happens if Springteen releases another album next year, goes on tour, and then releases another new ablum the year after that, goes on tour, etc... the point is, you just can't compare the two... at least not until Springsteen is doing what Prince has been doing for nearly 25 years. Personally I think that a lot of fans, especially fans that have seen Prince at the height of his popularity, have a really hard time adjusting to the fact that all aritsts, no matter how legendary their status, go through a period where they ride the wave of extreme popularity and seemingly endless record sales. But once the wave subsides, what you're left with are the true fans who still enjoy the artist's work whether he/she is as popular as they used to be or not. And that's where Prince is at right now. I would much rather for Prince to be happy and free than to be another puppet for the music industry. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I really can't find anything to bitch about here. What's the problem exactly? It seems clear that we're:
- getting this one with our membership - the message says: maybe this will convince others to join, to paraphrase. - soon. Relax. - 2 ONA live CD's and one aftershow CD. - Soundboard quality - minmum overdubs, like everybody wanted. - the first official live album we've been clamoring for. - worrying a bit too much about "what the kids think". Did WE listen to the music that our parents pushed on US? Or want them to? - Worrying a bit too much about Prince's "popularity". Leave that to him. He's doing what he wants and seems happier than he's been in years. - Impatient.

1+1+1=2? anyway, confusion aside, i tend to not worry and will accept what i get. i joined the club 2 support prince anyway, so the music he wishes 2 part with dont concern me. i shall be happy with anything. unless i have it already. lol. i leave it up to prince & the club. May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love.

Eye really hope that this is included with our membership... the email they sent me a few days ago said "Be checking your doorstep soon" paraphrase.
So why would they say that if its gonna be in the retail section? Please be included..

naah 1+1+l=3 - 2 ONA CD´s + 1 bonus CD = 3 but the real ? should B, will this service as our 3 NPGMC CD´s, now that´s what eye would like 2 now & sheesh give us a release date already, stop the teasing!!!

I am EXTREMELY happy, don't get me wrong. And this is NOT a bitch. Just wondering, as others have done here...do ya think this will count as our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th CDs? It's been said before, they've opnly got a couple more months to squeeze out our 3 more CDs. If this is a 3 CD set, that would fulfill the obligation (and I know these are not free, but it is a "member-only" privilege" for the start) owed to us member. It's not like it hasn't been done before to get out of a contract [read: Girl 6, Black Album, and Chaos & Disorder]. All great albums in their own right, but nothing of the masterful craftsmanship of Purple Rain, 1999, Dirty Mind,..SIGN O' THE TIMES!! And i'm sure the live stuff is great..I saw the show and know for fact. But by giving us members first dibs as a "privilege" it smells of "here's your last 3 CDs". I hope i'm wrong.
Then again...anyone remember the NPG Magazine? By The Way...Sdldawn...I didn't get "Be checking your doorstep step" - or anything slighly like that. Can you post your e-mail?

This is what they sent me
"High The ONE NITE ALONE...LIVE! Box Set is prepared right now 4 release. Details regarding tracks, release dates, and other details will all b 4thcoming in the weeks ahead. Look 4 more in ur emale box and on ur doorstep very soon." So this leads me 2 believe that we dont have to purchase this through the retail section. (at least hoping not 2) and that they are sending it to us, as a part of the club.. but who knows.. Eye wish they would just really ANSWER the freakin question instead of sayin crap like "oooh booo look under ure pillow and the symbol fairy might send u goodie"
