it would be fun to see it on the big screen again. last time i did was way back when it was first released in the theaters. and i've never been to the Uptown yet.

Well, I didn't buy it from a bootleger...I downloaded it for free from the alt.binaries.multimedia.prince newsgroup. It was 12 CDs though, not 7. And I'd still love to hear an official release from Prince. But he wouldn't have to give it to me for free or as part of the NPGMC membership. I'd still happily buy it from the club to get the better sound quality.

However, I'd hope it wasn't edited too much. And if I had already bought it froma bootlegger, I wouldn't feel bad. I've probably heard well over 300 past Prince concerts, and I would never been able to enjoy this live material if not for bootleggers. They may have made a few pennies off selling tapes and CDs, but they've given me the opportunity to enjoy Prince's genius as a live performer more than I ever could have otherwise.

I was just listening to "All The Critics Love U In New York" from Xenophobia earlier 2nite and I was thanking Prince for that incredibule funk. However, I was also thanking whoever recorded it, distributed it, and uploaded it to the newsgroup.

on another topic---whats up with the homepage -where r the active topics list...is it my browser or is something not quite right here...and as 4 a celebration set - I didn't buy it from bootleggers..or download it -I don't have fast dsl access available - but if P wants 2 send it 2 me - cool...I can't afford the $3000 to fly there from here in hobbiton (New Zealand) 4 a week long dream/party!!! and my wife and child would miss me too much anyway ...but if it was 4 sale from Princes website I would buy it - if the price isn't hideously expensive (can some1 say discount 4 NPGMC members!!!...surely Prince can do the set at around the same price as bootleggers- if not cheaper!!! what about a DVD set? now that would B Funky!!!

so any1 heard what any of the other CDs r gonna B?...presuming xenophobia is next...looks like the rest of the cds will have 2 b released closer 2gether as there is only 5 or so months 2 go patience is a virtue ...then I am a baaad baaad little fam!!!

C'mon P - lets have some more funk!!blues!!!jazz...at least give us a hint or maybe a 7 CD set is the hint...1 can only dream...I'd love 2 hear (and even see) the acoustic sets
BTW another way 2 deter the bootleg sales is to let us all know what u r going 2 release...future proof your sales and at the same time shut down the bootleggers...I hate 2 say it but Prince -u could actually learn from these bootleggers - they seem 2 know the market!!!

this is just a way of P trying to see some sort of figure of HOW many people have or DO buy bootlegs. By asking them how they feel - he will get some response then BAN them from the NPGMC !!! BEWARE !!!

They're not deleted. Click on "Community" at the top of the home page and you can still get to the discussion forums.

BTW- I just got back from Vegas as well... It DOES wear you out!
