SonicNet article on Microsoft music venture mentions Prince

From SonicNet (Wednesday, November 17):

Microsoft Signs Deals With NIN, The Artist

Listeners soon will be able to purchase downloadable albums from Nine
Inch Nails and Guided by Voices and sample online music from The Artist
and Foo Fighters. Those offers came in a bundle of announcements from
Microsoft designed to boost use of its Windows
Media online music player. First, indie label TVT will begin selling its
entire catalog this week, including Nine Inch Nails' Pretty Hate
Machine (1989), Guided by Voices' Do the Collapse (1999) and Sevendust's
Home (1999) by download from http://www.tvtrecords.com,
in the copy-protected Windows Media format.

Also, major label BMG said it would use Windows Media to showcase work
from two artists
each month. That promotion, at WindowsMedia.com, also begins this week,
with work from The Artist, and continues later this month with Foo
Fighters. Finally, custom-CD and downloadable-music retailer
Musicmaker.com will begin using Windows Media by the end
of the year.
