The Roots To Perform Prince's 1999



We were dreaming when we wrote this so forgive us if we go astray but when we woke up this morning... we turned on New York 1 to check the weather... and the weatherman said,"Bundle up. It's a windy 37 degrees. Oh, and by the way, the sky is all purple and there are people running everywhere." It was weird! Maybe the Roots had the same experience (yeah, maybe) as they've announced plans to perform Prince's classic double album 1999 in its entirety at New York's Brooklyn Academy of Music on December 11 and 12. "Party At The End Of Time: 1999 Live," will feature the hip hop faves, plus former Living Color members Corey Glover, and Vernon Reid, N'Dea Davenport (late of Brand New Heavies), Angelique Kidjo, among others.
