It was cool to see that MTV2 did not totally forget about Prince. The 2 hour video collection featured mostly all of the popular hit video's. To phrase it correctly the "Commercial Jams," and when I mean commercial, it was exactly that. There were so many tv commercials during the 2 hour show that I think there was only about 1 hour of actual video time featured!
Like I said, it was cool to see that MTV2 did not forget about Prince. There was the usual video's, "Kiss," "Raspberry Beret," "Let's Go Crazy," " 1999," " Little Red Corvette," "U Got The Look," and so on. There were a few surprises that kind of shocked me that they played such as, " Take Me With U (Live Video)," " Anotherlover(1986 Live video), and the rarely seen, " Dinner With Delores."
It wasn't a total bore. For the die hard fan's, you would have enjoyed at least 15 minutes of the show, but for those who just dig the hits,so be it!!!
Maybe one day, MTV2 will give Prince what he fairly deserves instead of a 7a.m. time slot consisting of the same old. Maybe next time they can dig deeper into the prince video archives and maybe even inform Prince so he can participate in giving MTV2 a few newer video's. Peace ,

The damn thing was on at 4am where Eye live! Eye 4got 2 record it but since it wasn't anything Eye don't already have Eye can breathe now. Eye heard they didn't show the live segment. Whats up with that?! Eye wish Eye wish Eye wish Prince would put some live concert dvd's out on the market!!!

On top of it being the same ole videos...they only had a 2 hour show for him (they gave U2 a 4 hour show and they gave Madonna an A to Z Collection show). They were also supposed to show another show after called "Prince: Party at Paisley Park" and it NEVER aired. On the satellite guide it was supposed to be after the video collection and then the 30 minute show was to air. He WILL one day get his props!

Eye didn't get a chance 2c it cause it came on ay 6:00am in my hometown but that's ok cause eye'v ceen most of those videos already except 4 Dinner With Delores and Anotherlover!

I was also very disappointed. I do not have MTV2, but had a friend at work tape it for me. I have already seen all of the videos before, (although a few of them not in a LONG while), so I was especially looking forward to the celebration "special" which w as obviously no too special if they decided Alicia Keys was more important. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Alecia, but hey. . . .this was supposed to be Prince.
Look, guys at MTV, (and VH1 and BET while we are at it) we don't get enough Prince goodies as it is. . . please don't tease us like that. . .it's just not right!!
