According to UK radio, even though I would Die 4 U by Space Cowboy has sold enough to make it into the UK Top 10 this sunday, it wont.

This is becuase the record company made a mistake and the single has one to many tracks on it (4 in total) and it also exceeds the allowed time limit of 20 mins.

These two rules are to prevent artists releasing 20 minute plus singles and gaining a unfair advantage over the competition.
Shame!!!

that's a real shame...this is one of the very rare prince covers which does the song justice...
also a pity prince misses out on the valuable publicity of seeing one of his songs high in the charts...it may have driven a few new fans to check out the purple rain cd...

hopefully they will issue a new version of the single for next week so it might chart based on the second week of sales.

Comments and reviews I've seen in UK media haven't even credited Prince.

Same goes for Alicia Keys' cover of HCUDCMA...

I have heard "I would die 4 u" is not sampled from the Prince version. Its been covered from another cover..!! can anyone name the artist.

I was looking out for IWD4U on this weeks Top 40 only for it not to be there! Closer investigation reveals that it DID chart last week - at 55 and has dropped to 70 this week.

Seems that Radio1 has stopped playing it altogether, dont quite know why. Anyway, seems that this opportunity for Prince to get a bit of recognition has completely passed by. And I dont hold out much hope for Alicia's HCUDCMA either.
