I'll check it with you bkw. Did you say you were from Melbourne or Sydney? If you're in Melbourne I know a hell of a pub crawl that we could do in West Richmond!

I am a card carrying member of the VIC (the Victoria's Imbiber's Club), a group of people dedicated to the appreciation of beer and its consumption in an appropriate environment. We believe that such an environment is in a pub. (Actually, I belong to a splinter group that also drinks ripple and feels that it's okay to imbibe in other places too; for example in the laundromat, on the trolley, on the job, or in a neighbor's yard.)

We would go from Vaucluse to Richmond Club to Depo, (where some Sheila owes me 5 dollars!),and then stagger to All Nation's where we would get kicked out and literally crawl to the Earl of Lincoln's before being dragged in a gunnysack to the DT's (I speak from experience!)

The VIC has a kind of manifesto or TOS, if you will, that I could really see being implemented here at the Org at some point. Here it is:

The VIC is very serious about the qualities of a pub that make it a Proper Pub. The ambience of such a pub relies on the physical as well as human factors of the surroundings.

The VIC also looks for bar management and staff that have respect and appreciation for their beer, their pub and their drinkers.

In our pursuit of Proper Pubs that serve good beer in a friendly and caring manner, the VIC has committed itself to participate in regular Pub Tours.

Apart from the general enjoyment of this participation, we aim to assess each pub on each tour on the quality of its:
1. BEER - Which is what we're really here for.
2. AMBIENCE - That quality in a pub that makes you want to stay all day
3. SERVICE - The manner of the bar keep and their care and respect they show for their beer, their pub and their patrons.
