[This is reaching pretty far...not very "Prince related", but might be of interest to some of you.... -Ed]

K-tel Announces Appointment of Owen Husney to
General Manager of K-tel International (USA) Inc.

MINNEAPOLIS, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Lawrence
Kieves, President of K-tel International, Inc.
(Nasdaq: KTEL) today announced the appointment of
Owen Husney to General Manager for K-tel
International (USA), Inc., the company's music
division. Husney will be based in K-tel's
Minneapolis offices and will report directly to
Kieves.

Husney's relationship with K-tel began in the 1980's when he worked with the company on several television commercials. In addition, Husney held a VP of A&R/Marketing position with K-tel from 1989-94, before serving as Senior Vice President, Corporate for Sam Goody/Musicland. Most recently, Husney operated his own consulting company, supporting retailers such as Sam Goody and Best Buy, as well as record labels including K-tel.

"We are very fortunate to bring in someone with Owen's expertise and passion to lead our music division," stated Kieves, who recently announced the reorganization of its sales force to expand its promotions and marketing abilities at retail. "This is a very exciting time for K-tel, and I believe that Owen is the perfect choice to help take us to new heights."

"I have had a 20-year association with K-tel, first in 1980 doing television commercials, next as an employee, and most recently as a consultant," stated Husney. "I am a firm believer in the name K-tel. It carries a unique brand equity unlike any other record label today. Everyone knows K-tel."

Husney began his career in 1965 as a guitarist for the Minneapolis band The High Spirits. In the early '70's, he handled publicity and promotions for various acts including Sonny & Cher, Alice Cooper and The Rolling Stones. Husney also played a vital role in forwarding Prince's career, helping the Artist land his first record deal with Warner Bros. In addition, Husney launched American Artists under A&M, operated urban labels under Capitol Records and Columbia Records and supplied artists for the A&M soundtracks "The Breakfast Club" and "Pretty In Pink."

K-tel International (USA), Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Minneapolis-based K-tel International, Inc., a vertically integrated developer, marketer, and distributor of entertainment and consumer products worldwide. The Company markets its product lines either to retailers, wholesalers, distributors, or licensees throughout the world, or directly to the consumer via television and other forms of direct response media, including its Internet web sites in the U.S. (www.ktel.com) and Germany (www.ktel.de).
