First report on Paisley gig

There was another performance at Paisley Park this morning. Here is a quick report. I'm sure someone else will fill in more details. It was not at all as well organized as far as getting people in the door this time. Last week doors opened before 1:00 which was a treat, no such luck this week. I got in line at 11:45 anddid not get in until about 2:30!!! And it was FREEZING out. My toes were numb. I was way up towards the front of the line and it went way out into the outer parking lot, so a lot of people were stuck waiting for hours in the col Security kept coming around saying the usual no cameras, cell phones, recording devices, smoking, drinking etc. and that the performance would be filmed and no jumping up i front of cameras. There were girls waiting in sleevless shirts, no coats or anything. I hope no one got sick.

Anyway the doors finally opened one plus on the evening was that it was FREE. No charge at all. Once I got in and was frisked I headed towards the Men's room and as I was reliving myself I heard a familiar guitar and thought "They're playing already!" Sure enough I ran in and the jam had begun. I have no idea if everyone behind me i line got in or not or how long it took as it was in the small room again and had quite a few people already. Luckily, I got a very good spot to the right side of the stage.

The first song was something like "When DO We Get Paid?" Then they did a Full version (extended even with some of the remix stuff) Of "The Greatest Romance....." Then was the first live performance I know of of "Baby Knows"! After this it sounded like "The War" was starting but it turned into a cover of "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" They did Larry's "Free"and "Everyday is a Winding Road" This was followed by a blistering Hendrix guitar jam. I'm afraid I can't think of what song it was. I'm sure someone will post it.

After this he said "we'll be right back" and the band left the stage for about 10 minute while they tuned some guitars or something. During this time they played "The Sun, The Moon and the Stars" from Rave and some instrumental version of TGRES. They came back and did "Let's Go Crazy", "She's Always in My Hair", "U Got the Look", "Kiss" (with an extended intro including samples of "Live 4 Love","Pop Life" and "My Name is Prince"!) The show ended with some long jams o"Come and Dance With Me" and "Release Yourself" with many audience members dancinCan't beat that for free! A great moment was when They were doing the intro for "Everyday is a Winding Road" and The Artist was right across the barriar from me and looked out into the crowd and went "Yee-haw!" in his best country imitation. Then he went to the mike and said "Y'all like country and western music?" It reminded me of that one bit from Muppets tonight!!!! Ok, thats it for now. Rave Un2 the Joy Fantastic!!!!
