Anyone in NYC has to check this out!
WBAI always does a killer Prince Birthday show.
Hours and hours of jams! I've been tuning in to these
for years.

unlike most radio stations the boys and girls of the new boogie groove (which include myself), we talk 2 let the audience know what it was we had just played and provide information 4 the community that may not know all the haps in the prince world. maybe what we sould do is just talk 4 a full hour over soul pyscholdelicide rehearsal from 86

but eye guess like my boy what time is it says ..u can't please everybody

Dear Finess,
You're the only one to ever complain about an hour of Soul Psychodelicide. Plenty of people, including myself, think that it's one of Prince's Funkier jams. The fact that he did it with George Clinton, makes it historic. But as my brother, Love4OneAnother stated earlier, you can't please everybody. What was left out was that we played that song during a 5 hour special that included all 3 hours of Emancipation. All in all over 4 hours of uninterrupted music with less than an hour of talking, but who is taking notes. :}
As for us talking too much, if we just played the music without talking, other people would complain that we don't provide enough information. We strive to provide a healthy balance. As for our upcoming 24 hour special,we plan on a number of exclusive surprises. Stay tuned !!

Dear Finess,
I totally agree with your statement that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. When you stated "Who in the hell wants an hour of "Soul Psychodelicide", I felt a need to enlighten you on just how popular that song is, in case you didn't know. Nobody's flaming you. I find that a healthy dialogue enriches everyone. Art is subjective!! One person's medicine can be another one's poison.

Peace!!

YES! I did mean " U gotta shake somethin" by the Flesh.
Thanx Finess.
I was just typing fast and not thinking.
Yeah, they may goof around on the air in addition to giving us the vital information, but they DO play some bad assed material that you would not hear anywhere else. Thank god for NYC!!!
AND...
I would take the one hour of Soul Psychadelicide ANYDAY!!
biggrin biggrin
What ppl seem to not get about one of the big reasons why the rehearsal cuts are so cool (Soul Psychadelicide, Bacon Skin, Billy's Sunglasses, etc) is that you get to hear Prince making shit up on the spot and thinking up lyrics & phrases that he ends up using later.
Anyways, I'll be tuned in. Thanks for doin' it for us!!!
biggrin
