The Artist's symbol faces fire



Uptown magazine, a Swedish-based publication that circulates in the USA, has filed a countersuit against The Artist Formerly Known As Prince, saying his claims that it infringed on the musician's copyright and trademark rights to the unpronounceable symbol he uses as his name constitute a "groundless suit intent on forcing it out of business." The suit says The Artist has, over the years, provided the symbol to media outlets worldwide and requested that they use it in making references to him.
