Chaka Khan was the headliner at the Women in Jazz benefit concert at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in LA on October 23. There were several other acts on the bill along with Brenda Russell so everyone did a relatively short set. Chaka was beautiful and in top form. Fans screaming for "Sweet Thing" and "Everlasting Love" prompted Chaka to say she would only be doing jazz with the quartet that backed her. She did glorious renditions of "I Love You, Porgy", "Summertime", and "My Funny Valentine" among others. The performace lasted 40 or 50 minutes
