"This Is What WE DO!"

So, the grease poppin' in Studio A was PRINCE editing the Aftershow from The World in New York. (Besides the 10 minute guitar solo on "Joy in Repetition")}}} WE just hope he includes GEORGE CLINTON screaming, "It would b ludicrous 2 think that we couldn't do this..WE DO this...THIS IS WHAT WE DO!"

It's all very well releasing the NY aftershow, but he somehow needs to persuade Alicia Keys, ?uestlove and Musiq's management companies, publishing houses and record labels to let him put their stuff out there.. Surely?

i wonder if any of these shows will see the light of day...i can think of 5 or so shows i've seen that would be killa':

The 2000 Celebration show at Northrup(Doug E Fresh was superb--and yes, i'm an old school fan, too)

One of many PParties from 1994 or 95-the show at Glam Slam on his '95 Birthday was great, too!(or was it '94?)-the show where O+> introduced "pussy control" to the crowd by having the DJ playing the song over the loud speakers, and then dancing with the crowd to HIS OWN SONG was the shizznitz!

The Mill City Fest show from '99--the last time i heard him play 1999 live and also see Mayte with O+>. The crowd of 40,000 was mostly pushy and drunk, but the music was just superb.

The 2nd JOTY show in Mpls back in Dec 1998, Thursday nite. Man that show was incredible. I started a dance party in the middle isle on the floor and had a great time, and the encore was slammin'!!

There are a couple Erotic City shows that were great blues shows from the upper level of Glam Slam, but can't remember the dates.

And i've heard the Montreal Jazz Fest show was great.

peace and we out

I couldnt agree more Aaron. I was holding up Prince's lyric book during that gig and it was unreal. I have to get this gig - official or bootleg!

ok....it'll never happen...but that would be a treat.

JUST 1 ONA show and 1 ONA Aftershow and i'll be a happy boy!!!

From what i've read - the Chicago bootleg just does not seem like an interesting show...and when you listen to it - it simply does convey the energy of the performance like some soundboard boots do - ala 'Small Club'.

C'MON P - GIVE US A SOUNDBOARD LIVE SHOW DAMMIT!!!!

Well... maybe I'm just in a bad mood tonight... I hate to be the pessimist, but I'm going to "yawn" over the news of this so-called "new grease" until we (the fans) get served. How many times people have we gotten hints that Prince was "gettin ready to release something" ohhh "it's almost done..." YEAH, YEAH WHATEVER! When I see it in my mailbox, I'll believe it.

Next week there will be a post on NPGMC saying... "well, it seems like Prince couldn't get the mix to sound the way he wanted it to sound so I guess there won't be a release after all..." I've heard it too many times to get excited. Y-A-W-N

PLEASE!! Did you people just drop out of a tree or something??

There's a better chance of Osama Bin Laden showing up for this year's Celebration than this show being officially released. Prince was mixing it just so he could enjoy it for himself and marvel at how much of a genius he is. Then it will go on the shelf next to his work with Miles Davis and the tracks he did with Lenny.

Be realistic - go download or buy the boot and enjoy the music.
