Prince discussed on Howard Stern show Here is a transcript:
Robin Quivers: The Artist Formerly Known as Prince is considering covering the work of a musician he truly admires. Howard Stern: That affects me. RQ: Himself. HS: Oh he's going to cover his own music? Wow. RQ: Yes, he's going to re-record all his old music. HS: Good. RQ: And sell it on his own. HS: Good. RQ: See right now it belongs to a record company, because he used to have a record company contract. HS: Right. RQ: So if he re-recorded it and sold it on his own, he'd get all the profits. HS: Oh, let's hope that works out for him. [semi-sarcastic] RQ: [laughter] RQ: That doesn't just mean his hits, but the entire catalog. He considers it his way of ending his feud with Warner Bros., which currently owns most of his best known music. HS: What about all the DJs who are re-recording my bits? | |
