I won't be going not for $250. I only go to one or two nights of the Celebration ..... $250 is way to much for that.

.A ‘once in a lifetime experience’ that happens every year? At $250 dollars (£170 in real money) plus air fare, accommodation and food it will have to be once in a lifetime, and that once won’t be this year. All those who believe in telekinetics, raise my hand...

Dear Prince.
I suppose u can cast myself as a so called "banished one". I live In Sydney Australia. U may remember it, U toured here around this time TEN YEARS AGO. Im 26 and have been a fam since I was 7, and for the past 19 years I have lived my life 2 the soundtrack of your songs. I have bought all u're CD's (and associated artists), Videos, merchandise, attended concerts and movies, had shit put on me for being a fam (and have defended u on all counts), stuck by u during your "Slave" years, clung on during the "kirky" years. I have never become a NPGMC member. Not that I never wanted to. US$100 equates to $200 Australian dollars. I have my wife and daughter to support and can't afford a memebership. I never went 2 Celebration 1. After that there was "talk' (but no solid date) of a second celebration. I really thought that the celebration really was a one off, and never expected a second. But there was, and it was on late notice, even the US fams said that it was on short notice. So there was no chance for any Australian fam to hook up for Celebration 2. And now we have Celebration 3, at a cost of US$250 ($500 Australian) and by the sounds of it, you have to be a member to attend. ($700). Based on the cost of the first 2 Celebrations, I worked out for an Aussie 2 attend Celebration, entry 2 Paisley Park, Plane Fare, Accommodation, food, general expences for a week would be roughly $5,000 Australian. But now????(and times this all by 3, Myself, wife, and 3yr old girl[Paisley Park is open 2 everyone of all ages]). I've always wanted to take my family 2 MPLS, and experience what you have given me, but now I find my dream more and more out of reach. Im not going 2 say "Im never going 2 be a fam again". Sometimes i feel like the family in the "Money Don't Matter 2night" video, just finding it hard 2 live day 2 day. Does money matter Prince? I know u have 2 make U're money too, but give the fams a break. Signed - "The Banished one" Xperience the Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com/

Dear Prince.
I am also a so called "Banished One". I Live in Melbourne, Australia. I am your biggest fam in Australia. I didnt get the chance to see you live in Australia. I hope to become a NPGMC Member in the future. But just as dnaplaya US $100 equates to AUS$200. That is too much for me to afford at the moment. You say that you like to refer to your fans as FAMS. Well what about playing a celebration concert for your worldwide fams. Im sick and tired of not being able to attend Celebration or any of your recent concerts. Simply because you dont come down to Australia. Even if you are too busy to come to Australia atleast release some DVD's or sumfin. How bout a One night alone DVD, Or a Hit N Run DVD. If you are not committed to playing for your worldwide fams then at least make yourself available on DVD. Peace Anotha Banished One

I sure hope you Aussies get to MPLS. I really do. We USA folks sometimes take it for granted we can get to Paisley Park much easier. Some are within driving distance.
I feel your pain - I remember 1988-1993 when Prince pretty much stayed in Europe an toured. Didn't hit the USA til 1993 again after Lovesexy. I was ready to go to Europe and see a show - just couldn't afford all that. Keep the faith. I bet he will show up Down Under before long.

Well the tours for Parade and Sign o the Times were both aborted before they made it to the US One Nite Alone and Xenophobia will help me forgive him for it [This message was edited Wed May 8 8:12:18 PDT 2002 by NuPwrSoul] "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32

[This message was edited Wed May 8 8:12:18 PDT 2002 by NuPwrSoul] It looks like the greed has really showed itself this year. I am so pissed off. After paying $100 for a membership and not getting shit, now its $250/person to get in, when last year it was like $70. I'm about tired of this!!!!! \ Cuz ain't nobody bad...Like Me!!!!

This year he performs every night (at PP), besides the guests.

If the cost is $250 for members ..... I wonder what the cost for non-members is going to be .....
I do think for a week of entertainment $250 is a good price if you go to everything day and night .....

$250 divided by 7 days equals about $35.00 a day ... the Celebration price is Ok ..... but what about the Non members ?????

And what if people show up at Paisley and want to see a performance ????? like on Fri or Sat.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
will there be nightly cover charges as well ?????
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
man that's expensive--for 2 tix--cuz you know no one wants to go alone or without knowing someone there--that's $500. That's $35 a night--if you go every nite. Last yr i went to 5 nights including the 2 concerts--that works out to be $50 a night.
Just hoping Paisley has room for all the fans--cuz i've been to many shows there--the large performance room fits 400 max(450 if you open the 2 large doors to the dance floor--and that's with a smaller stage. hmmm hey, maybe he could have an outside show--PP owns much of the land around the park.

Just a note--i will likely be going to the new Celebration as i love the music, have since 1982...but man i'm hoping PP can fit all the NewPowerGeneration of fans. See ya there!!
Peace!! | |
