Per Nilsen discusses his latest book

Hi finally got in contact with the author Per Nilsen and this is what he had
to say about the release. I didn't want to bog his down with questions so I
just asked him some quick need to know stuff.

Here are the replies:

I asked him what the exact book title, publisher and ISBN # was so we can
find it local here or order it as an import he said...

"The book is titled DANCEMUSICSEXROMANCE - Prince: The First Decade
The publisher is Firefly Publishing, UK, under ISBN 0 946719 23 3"

When asked what the release schedule was he replied...

"The book has just been released in the UK and should be available in
the US this week or next."

But what I really wanted to know about this book was in what way does this
book differ his previous release Prince: A Documentary...

"The book differs from Prince: A Documentary in that it is based on
some 300 hours of interviews with Prince associates: engineers,
Paisley Park employees, band members, etc. It is a biography, rather
than a simple "facts-oriented" chronology like A Documentary was. The
book has a foreword by Alan Leeds. People who were interviewed include
Susan Rogers, Peggy McCreary, Alan and Eric Leeds, Bobby and David Z.
Rivkin, Matt Fink, Dez Dickerson, Matt Blistan, Time members Jellybean
Johnson and Monte Moir, stage set designer Roy Bennett, Owen Husney,
Chris Moon, etc etc."

This truly sounds like an excellent book. I read a lot of the Susan Rogers
interviews a few issues back in Uptown mag and I can tell you there is some
really interesting stuff there. I can now only imagine it only gets better
with this big laundry list of Who's who in the world of Prince. My
suggestion is pick it up in a bookstore near you.
