Bass Cowboy - "Die 4 U"

Recently, dance music artists and record labels held their annual Miami Winter Conference, which last year resulted in (among others) Eddy Grant scoring a massive hit with a remix of "Electric Avenue" (it was one of the "hottest" records during the conference's many parties). This year...

Source : 7 (weekly UK magazine focussing on dance music).

Excerpt :
Bass Cowboy - "Die 4 U"
Not a booty (really) but a cut-up of a cover version of Prince classic "I Would Die 4 U" that was MASSIVE with Norman Cook. Southern Fried [name ofa record label - BVH] are set to release some bass Cowboy stuff later this year but no news on whether this little one-sider will ever see the light. Southern Fried said: "It's just a little taster of what Bass Cowboy can do. It's not a bootleg -- the source is a cover version that someone did in Essex and it really works -- it's really amazing.

This record was also mentioned in the same magazine's "In-Office Listening" secion which lists which records they consider to be essential that week:

Actually, I found this at my local DJ store in West Hollywood. If you're interested, it's call Perfect Beat, and the phone number is (310) 273-3337, or go to www.perfectbeat.com. They only had a couple left, but maybe they can order some more...

More like the other way around.

If you listen 2 Daft Punk's last CD "Discovery", U can hear those guys (robots) were listening 2 1982 Prince.

Daft Punk's "Discovery" was the "1999" of 2001!

I hope Prince has heard that CD. I think he'd dig it, give him a bit of a challenge 2 top something like that.

If all else fails, get it through www.ebay.com , search for prince 2002 or prince 12" and you can find it. Some sellers won't ship out of the country though.
