I'm trying to get feel of how early I should get to Avery Fishcer Hall. According to the NPGMC site, they let people in to the soundcheck at 5 p.m., at which point you claim your seat for the night. So if I get there early and get in line early, I'm assuming I'll have a better chance at gettng a better seat. What time are people planning on arriving? Also, I checked NPGMC site and pre-sale tickets are sold out. Should I factor that into what time I get there also?

Who cares what Prince did years ago? This is NOW. & no one is whining. By the way, Prince also blew off his last scheduled Today Show performance. Prince & Prince alone is to blame for the ridiculously high ticket prices for his shows. Even NPGMC admits that. Ani DiFranco, playing this Saturday at Carnegie Hall, isn't backed by a major label, pays union dues, rental fees & "what not," is charging less than $50 a ticket & I'm in the front row.[/quote]

Yeah. Ani Difranco-much respect to her-is not Prince or Madonna, U2 or Bruce. I'm ok with paying money to see them they've earned it. If blaming Prince is your entertainment, then so be it, I guess you not going. But in the meantime say hi to Ani for me.

Who said I wasn't going? Actually, I'm seeing Ani on Saturday & Prince on Tuesday. You made all sorts of points that Prince pays for the rent of the house (like any other performer), the cost of travel (like any other performer), lighting, sound & other technical issues (like any other performer. The only difference between him & people like U2, Springsteen & Madonna is that he's not on a major label. Ani DiFranco, like Prince, has all of these expenses and is not on a major label, yet she keeps her ticket prices reasonable. Even NPGMC puts the blame squarely on Prince's shoulders in a recent response someone posted here about the high price of his shows. "Blaming Prince" is not something I find especially entertaining. It's only an unfortunate fact. And I've seen Larry Graham often enough, I'd like to have that portion of the show refunded.

Does anybody need tickets to NYC's Arpil 9th show - i have 2. I can't wait for this show. The Avery Fisher hall is an amazing venue, well worth the 8 hour wait in line - pity about the ticket price though. Come on Prince, leave the over-inflated price/greediness to Madonna and Michael Jackson et al.

I have 2 extra pair of tix for FL Saturday night. My gf messed up and got the extras. They are good seats at $225/pair including all the charges. Email me at meokeefe@yahoo.com if you can help. This will be an extremely expensive show if I can't unload them.

Funny how all the negative BS stopped after the show became sold out! So much for the nay sayers who were prediciting "it cant be done so late, it's gona be empty, it's too expensive, he doesn't sing PR, I hate the religious stuff, blah, blah, blah". End of the story is that tomorrow the concert will be awesome, npg members will get in the soundcheck, get the best seats and the nay sayers will read the review the next day and explain that prince is not as good as he used to be. well, don't bother, we understand your stand by now.

the "rehearsal":
The ride
Alphabet street
For the tears in you eyes
Power fantastic
Extraordinary
Joy n repetition
that's for the soundcheck.

the concert itself was similar to the previous ones of this tour aside from purple rain

the afterparty had qtip, maceo, candy, alicia key, doug e fresh, and george clinton. the highlight was duet of HCUDCMA w. alicia key. too tired to give details it was off the hook.
