"Shipping Charge" waived 4 Atl. tickets

Many reacted quickly and negatively 2 the $19.50 "shipping charge" they they were billed for pre-sale tiickets. NPGMC acknowledges this error and waives it. I got the following e-mail:

High NPGMC Member,

As u know, the concert passes u bought from r site 4 the Atlanta concerts r all Will-Call only. A shipping charge was added 2 ur order due 2 an automatic process in the Retail section. But we wanted 2 let u know that u will not b charged a shipping fee and we r crediting it back 2 ur account.

Injoy the show!

peace,

As usual they don't admit to any fault on their part.

It was just an "automatic process in the Retail section." Making it sound like it's some kind of damn bonus feature. razz

The simplest of tests of this new system of selling tickets on-line would have revealed this problem long before people started buying tickets.

We’re still dealing with amateurs. If this group would just apologize for some of their mistakes I think they’d find out people would be willing to cut them a lot more slack.

I can see it now, news post "Prince decides to give tickets away for free to all the members of The NPGMC" followed by posts from orgers saying "He makes it sound like he's doing some big favor when we should have gotten tickets free to begin with. Who does he think he is!!??" blah blah blah

Face it everyone, he CANNOT win.

If you can't see the difference between common courtesy and professionalism in business and your analogy, then pearls before the swine indeed.

I would have reacted in the same way regardless of wether the company concerned was NPGMC or any other company affiliated with Prince for that matter.

Many orgers seem to think when you're dealing with Prince (as opposed to dealing with any and every other company) you should 'cut him some slack' or 'give the guy a break'!

Well I'm sorry but when it comes to my hard earned cash I won't give him or any other company 'a break' if I feel they've taken money that they shouldn't have!

Some of you are so blinkered when it comes to Prince! Step into the REAL WORLD!

Suppose someone purchased their tickets with their debit card and had enough money for the tickets only. A charge of 19.50 may have made that person overextended causing either a service charge from the bank or the cancellation of the tickets. Hopefully, no one had this happen.

As a matter of fact, I did use a Check card to pay for my tickets, and during the Saturday bottlenecking server fiasco of trying to get tickets at the time I put in my card number more than once just to get it to say Congratulations and give me my confirmation number. I also checked in my order history to verify that I had only purchased one ticket. I only got one email stating that I got one ticket. When I went to my bank statement, the whole ticket price of 138.50 had been charged to my account TWICE. I immediately wrote them back stating what had happened. They sent me an email stating that they did find an erroneous charge and would be taking care of it. They also thanked me for bringing it to their attention. I was impressed with the speed of the response of the letter, basicly within a few hours. However, I have yet to see that charge go back into my account, that was a few days ago. I just saw the 13.50 for the shipping charge. I just wrote back to them reminding them of the previous promise. Lets see where this goes.

The big deal is that I would be paying $250.00 for one ticket if I left it alone. Would U pay as much? Im not made out of money. If U would, then more power to ya.

considering all the tickets in the main floor are $125, how about you skip the member presale altogether and buy your tickets from ticketmaster? That way you can avoid the whole shebang and only deal with multi-million dollar companies who have the resources to spend a gazillion dollars on a state-of-the-art ticketing system. Sounds like you would be more satisfied. Just a suggestion.

P.S. i'll bet you $10 that they would have returned the overpaid money anyway even if you hadn't emailed them. sounds like they refunded everyone the shipping charge, regardless of email. You should always make sure you get your moneys worth and not get billed incorrectly. But sh** happens, as long as it gets taken care of, chill.

Well damn, I was just making a point, no need to go "Kellyanne" on anybody. I can live with or without the 13.50, the big deal was the extra 138.50 they took. Thats all. U chill.

Sorry Xeno but I'm with Mr Happy on this one. You can't let these things go and hope your money will be credited to your account, often you have to chase these companies up whether they're big or small. If you don't keep on at them you could end up losing a lot of money over the years. Just my experiences over the years, no offence meant smile

Aint no big deal in the first place. The charge never appeared on my confirmation statement ot anywhere else, except at NPGMC checkout.

5 days and counting...
