In a magazine that comes with most major sunday newspapers, called Parade, a question is asked about prince/Artist/0(+>'s marriage and about the annullment.....it has a photo with mayte and 0(+> from the Latina cover party.....the answer though is taken straight out of the Paper magazine article.....

Q: I recently read that the Artist Formerly Known as Prince gave an interview
explaining why he had his marriage annulled. What did he say? ~Anonymous, Lake
Oswego, Ore.



A: Quoting from the interview in Paper magazine won't help much, because it
consisted mostly of bizarre doubletalk. For example, in explaining why he
decided to dissolve his three-year marriage to Mayte Garcia, 26, one of his
former backup singers, the Artist said: "We were drawing energy from strange
people around us. Strange words and numbers, bad contacts. We had to step away
from that." Pressed further, the rock star (born Prince Rogers Nelson), 41,
reluctantly confided that Mayte had grown so jealous, he could not even give
interviews to young female reporters without her being present. The couple, who
lost a son in 1996 to a rare skull defect, still live together despite the
annulment and like to spend time at their new house in Marbella, Spain.
