Just wish they weren't doing it general admission. But glad that they are going to sell them directly. No ticketmaster fees, and no worries about people passing around passwords. Just limit each account to 2 tickets up front. Good idea.

Great Idea !!!!!smile
I just wish they would still give people seat numbers though, would suck if U had to run to the bathroom and find out coming back that another member "borrowed" the seat U were previously sitting in, (so 2 speak),
Would it B very hard as people enter to give them a number to match seats in order to avoid confusion/chaos?razz

I agree with everyone saying this is a problem - just wrote an e-mail to npgmc - seems silly to make everyone wait forever and then trample each other.

I checked the npgmc about 2 hours ago and the passes were for sale in the members retail section, but now they are not. I guess they are having tech. diff.

I agree that General Admission is a pain in the ass, because there will be people lining up at noon to get up front. But I guess that's OK. At least the craziest mofos will be up front to cheer Prince on the loudest.

I just hope that they have enough tix for all the NPGMC members who want to go to each show. And I wonder if the Ticketmaster fees will still apply?

Anyway, it's an improvement over the old system if it works. I wonder if the site will be overwhelmed with traffic during the presales or if it can handle it? Anyway, I like how the NPGMC is working to improve things and trying new approaches to give the fans the best shots at seats. It will be cool to get into the venue at 5pm and then not have to leave again...it will definitely be a purple party down front for about 5 hours...

Well they're getting better and better...

1. First we had regular presale using password. Bootleggers had memberships and bought tix, other members bought tix to sell to others, and ticketmaster "assisted" brokers to get their blocks.

2. Then we moved to screening presale purchases according to membership. And requiring WILL CALL, photo ID, and immediate entry.

3. And now selling the members the passes directly through the members only retail section... screens em and ensures 2/member, WILL CALL with photo ID and immediate entry.

At least they're really making an attempt to improve the process--every step gets better.

are there enough seats in the first 15 rows? i understand that this is probably a better method, but last time didn't we have all tickets availbale, so that we would be guaranteed a seat in the presale?

Well, I appreciate that Prince is making a concerted effort to eliminate the scalping situation. I think gratitude is owed as well to J7 and JoVonAngel for speaking up on this as well.

Novy

We've already heard reports of pushing and shoving just to get into the sound checks, imagine the chaos that could ensue when people are actually rushing to pick out the seat that they will have for the entire evening.

Could be especially ugly in those cities where the membership plus guests reach 200-300 people or more (like Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco), all waiting to rush the stage as soon as the doors open.

And even if they only allow 5 to 10 people in at a time, based on how early you got to the venue, you’ll have problems with line jumpers and people saving seats for friends.

I agree that this process is better and that it will be very difficult for scalpers to beat, but I think there is a very good chance that the general admission portion of the plan will create problems and highlight some real human ugliness.

This is awful. The entire front rows are going to be taken up by 6'2" tall men who elbowed, pushed, shoved and fought each other and stepped on the women to get to those seats.

I don't know why NPGMC is under the mistaken impression that Prince fans are well behaved enough to handle something like this.

There will be warfare in the aisles.

Well Congratulations to NPGMC!!!
looks like they will finally beat the scalpers (to the best seats anyway)

But general admission is not a good idea, we all know what we are like and we know that we can expect the same or worse from others,

we need seated tickets.....

you reading this Prince ?

I'm not thrilled with this new idea as I think I would have had an excellent chance of getting excellent seats in the first 5 rows thru ticketmaster. A seat I could call my own.

One suggestion which could work and has done at other GA Prince gigs in the past is if the people who get there earliest buy a book of bingo or coat check (cloakroom) tickets and as people join the line they are given one of these numbered tickets. That way the line could be kept in order and everyone would know there place and there wouldn't be any ugliness or arguments.

Just an idea. What do you all think?

LOL. Well I ain't 6'2", but I guarantee you that anyone pushing me, elbowing me, or otherwise inappropriately finding entry out of line will get STOMPED!

So simply put, people betta act like they have some home training. Don't start none won't be none.

so close and yet so far!! i'm not as young as i used 2 b...right now i can say that i doubt i can stand in line alll day like i used 2 ...but i know myself and when it came down 2 the wire, i probably would b there as early as possible....BUT...fighting some hootchie that's trying 2 slither up and take my seat is another thing....i might havta cut a bitch, lol!!

:::looking off in2 space:::having flashbacks of the first celebration::::waiting in line alllll day:::only a few people in front of me so it's cool, i can live w/ that:::::20 mins b4 the doors open, cars pull up:::people get out, saying "what's uuppppp!!" 2 the people in front of me:::now all of a sudden i have 30 people in front of me, instead of 11!!!:::getting inside and waiting in line AGAIN, just 2 "get in the small room" and not leaving 2 use the bathroom cause when i wanna come back in, i have 2 que up again:::

Prince, sweetie....u better make sure security is there during the waiting period of after the sound check, up until the show...i'm a lover, not a fighter...so the last thing i wanna have 2 do is take my ear rings off and knuckle up, lol...

i just have a feeling things might get ugly sad

Direct sales: brilliant idea
General Admission: chaos and confusion

I strongly suggest all the NPGMC members to email the club with their views on General Admission.
I don't see why they can't assign seating by time-stamping the pre-sale orders that come in.
It's wonderful to know they are listening - now become the voice!

hey y'all

I'm getting confused because of all the changes Prince is making with the presales. I'm going to be at the DC concert on March 30th and I have AA (front row) tickets. But since it is will-call, I am afraid everything will be made general admission due to the fact that the soundcheck is already general admission. I am hoping that the general admission crap for the concert itself takes effect with the Atlanta pre-sale. I mean, I do have reserved seating, so it's only fair I get my front row seats. My question is this. Do I have to worry about fighting everyone for first row?

wow. i'm happy that i have seen the first 6 concert from the tour! that was a easy life!
buying tickets in advance @ ticketmaster here in europe (internet) and then i had cool days @ the concert. saginaw as a exaple. i had first row. first some dinner @ six, then walking 2 the theater, watching the merchandise, taking another drink, walking slowly 2 my seat and enyoing the cool concert!
but now: they have 2 wait @ 2pm @ the door so they will have
probably the luck 2 get 1 of the rist tickets @ the will call window and then a couple of hours latter 1 of the front row seats directly by the speakers. and never go out 4 a other drink or u r back in row 15.....
