Thought this might be interesting to some. On page 1 of the
September 11,1999 issue of Billboard is a lengthy article on
the Butthole Surfers ("Butthole Surfers Resurface") that is
all about thier legal battles and problems with record
companies. Some of it is very similar to the sorts of
problems Prince/The Artist has had. They had a long legal
battle with an Independent label (Touch & Go) which finally
ended with them getting back thier master tapes and
releasing their albums on their own record label (without
having to re-record them!) Then they were on Capitol and
had problems with them and were just released from their
contract.



The other interesting tidbit is that they are signing to
Surfdog/Holleywood records now and that label has a new
management team of Bob and Rob Cavello. If I am not
mistaken this is the same Bob Cavello of Cavello, Ruffalo,
and Fargnoli who used to represent Prince.
