That's because it still isn't getting any airplay.

What about sales in other territories? Is there the equivalent of soundscan stats elsewhere? I'd be curious to know how many have been sold over here (UK) and what about Japan - is TLD still topping airplay charts there and how is TRC selling on the back of that?

I still find it incredible that it sells at all. One thousand plus people walked into stores and purchased the record. Weird...

There actually was a slight jump in sales during the tour...TRC had been steadily falling about 300-400 copies sold a week, and the week before the tour, it only sold around 2,100...

According to these figures, though, sales for TRC were around 2,500 during the first week of the tour--the "LW"("last week") sales tally they give is for the week of March 4th-March 10th...so it jumped up about 400 units sold for that week...which, if you wanna be technical about it, means sales rose around 20% for the first week of the tour...Then the next week of March 11-17th--the week Prince stopped touring--the sales went back down to around 2,100 again...

It's not much of a bump, but he did move several hundred more units than normal during the first week of the tour...

If The Rainbow Children has sold 121,000 in the U.S., I wonder what the worldwide sales are?

It has apparently sold over 150,000 copies in Japan as it is getting heavy air play. The only place on earth that actually gives it any play as far as I can see.

You can only guess what sales in the rest of the world are because it's only available in most places on import. At a guess I'd say 50,000 at the most.

My guess at a world wide figure is approximately 320,000 copies.

Good sales for an indy release.

I think it's cool that Japan is playing the record that much!
I used to think that import sales are counted into the US sales, no?
