Mill City report #7

I went to the Mill City Music Festival alone. I am a long time fan of "The Artist" but none of my friends care for him. I felt safe since the message is always about love and tolerance.

I arrived early, at 5:00pm and found a spot away from the front of the stage but where I could see most of the stage and planted myself. Since I was alone I couldn't leave or I would have surely lost my place.

Towards the beginning of Larry Graham's set the crowd began to get agitated. There was some pushing and shoving. People started to get ugly. Many were obviously drunk. The area around me was quickly filled with rude behavior and some fighting. I was stepped on.
My left foot was bruised and my right foot was severly sprained by someone trying to take my spot. I spent yesterday afternoon in the emergency room and came home on crutches.

I am very dishearted by my experience. I thought that the fans of The Artist had more class.
I don't understand why so much alcohol was available. All of the bars in the neighborhood were open. If people wanted to drink they could have gone to the bars.
I also believe that the concert was over sold. People got angry because they paid $25.oo at the door and they couldn't see the stage. Then those same people took out their agression on people like me who found good spots early.

I hope no one else got injured.
