Mill City report #5

Mill City--1999!

The concert In Minneapolis on September 6th-1999 in downtown Minneapolis began with the Mayor of Minneapolis introducing The Artist as he came on stage. Wouldn't ya know it he began playing Sign Of The Times and the place started jumping.

The special guest was Maceo Parker,the saxophone player from James Brown's Band. He also had the hornheads playing on sax,trumpets and trombone. Morris Hayes on keys,Mike Scott{who did a couple of great solos on his guitar},Larry Graham and Rose Stone from Sly and The Family Stone {she sang a kickin solo...}

Some of the songs I remember: GETT OFF,U GOT THE LOOK,Purple Rain,2 new songs from Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic....one of them was pretty Man{I know everyone is gonna love that one!!!}.....He also played push it Up and Everyday Is A Winding Road and he gave credit to Sheryl Crowe for the song.

There is a lot more news but this little post will get your juices flowing.The end of the concert:Push it Up! and 1999 were the encores.

After he was done playing,the Mayor of Minneapolis gave him a key 2 the city and gave him a big hug.....wayy cool 4 the Man from Minneapolis Minnesota!!!!!.

props go 2 the coordinators of The Mill City Music Festival....they did a great job putting this one together.....Peace and Harmony!....MinneapolisFunk!
