NPG Retail sets up shop at Mill City (free stuff!)

I attended the first day of the Mill City Festival yesterday. I remember a promotion awhile back where 1,000 people would recieve a free book and cassette as a gift from the Artist. Well, it looks like they were giving them away to anyone who asked and not just those folks. I saw people walking around with these plastic bags and could see that at least one of the things in it was the Emancipation book. I thought it was the promotion but just in case I went to one of the gates and said "just a question, I see people walking around with these bags..." And the guy said "oh sure, want one?" Anyway, it was the Emancipation book and a cassette of "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World."

I heard there was gonna be a 1-800-NEWFUNK booth there and looked for it with no luck until late in the evening I noticed they had set up shop on the block where the main stage is. They were selling Beautiful Strange videos, jewelry, shirts (some pretty cool new NPG sweatshirts I have never seen, pricey though at $45 and $50 I think) Maybe some stuff I forgot, and.... as reprted in The Future secion on the L4OA website they had these really cool posters that say "Mill City" on the top, "Music Festival" down the side and "1999" on the bottom. It is a really cool picture of The Artist wearing a purple sparkly outfit, holding his purple symbol , wearing an NPG and a symbol necklace, long hait, goatee, and in his right hand he's holding what looks like a bottle of water or juice that says "Y2K" on the label. Really cool poster. It was up in various bars and restaurants around the festival sight. They were selling it for $20, kinda steep but oh well I had to have it. Oh yeah and with every purchase, guess what? Yup, a free Emancipation book. How many of those did they print up anyway???

Monday night should be FUNKY!!!
