Some of the biggest names in funk took to the stage in Los Angeles last night (Sept. 1) to promote United We Funk, a newly formed collective of old-school bands. The assembly--including Rick James, Charlie Wilson of the Gap Band, Michael Cooper of ConFunkShun, and Bobby Harris of the Dazz Band--was joined by El DeBarge and Howard Hewett in a 30-minute jam session that covered selected songs from each artist.
