Prince is mentioned in Comedian's Book

{{{The comedian, Cedric the Entertainer talks about the purple one in his new book, Grown A$$ Man (Ballantine Books) He writes: "I know people want to give credit to Jennifer Lopez for starting the whole trend of wearing revealing clothes an national television, and God bless her. But she wasn't the originator. No if we're going to be honest, Prince was the first one to do the whole J-Lo thing.}}}

He was the first person to ever go on a national TV show, in this case the MTV Video Music Awards, and reveal some major skin. He had his whole ass out. DO you remember the whole ass-out pants? They were yellow-not that I looked too hard.

You've got to be Prince to walk around with those pants on. You can't be a regular everyday Moe at the gas station going, "Give me a lottery tickets and four dollars on pump eight" Because when you turn around, the guys behind the counter's going to say, "Sorry partna, but you can't shop here, not with your as hanging out like that" You can't wear pants like that to the PTA meeting. It ain't going to work. You can't talk about your kid having a reading problem and then walk out with your butt fully exposed.

The thing you have to realize is that the pants didn't come like that. Prince had to have those pants tailored. So at some point he was up on a box inside a three-way mirror, looking at himself and thinking, "I like these pants." But then he turned to his tailor and said, " You know Irving. the sequins are great, I love the way the bellbottoms flare out. And not putting any pockets in front, that's all groovy, But the pants need something else, I don't know what they need, but.....hmmmmm. You know what, cut the ass out, That'll be perfect."

You can't wear something like that more than once. Does Prince then decide if he's going to give those pants to Goodwill or a family menber? I can picture his nephew saying, "Uncle Prince, got anything in the closet you're not wearing anymore?"
Then Prince is rummaging through the closet and saying" I've got these pumps, and those boots, I wore them in Purple Rain. You don't need those? Okay. Oh, you know what? I got there ass-out pants, and I only wore them once."

"Uh, no thanks, Uncle Prince. I don't think I can get away with those."

"You sure? I don't know where I can go with these ass-out pants. I wonder how I can get Jennifer Lopez's number. She could open them up a bit..."

Prince also wrote songs that tested your blackness-like "Raspberry Beret" and "Baby, I'm a Star." They were hot songs, but they somehow made the coolest brother dance like Carlton from the Fresh Prince.

I just love that Muppet Show....
