John, you and your family will be in my prayers. I am hurt by your loss and know that you have many people who are thinking of you in these times of sadness.

What a terrible, terrible tragedy. It must be the absolute hardest thing in the world to go through. At least he's in the company of someone else who's lost a child...I'm sure he's got the support of the band and his family and friends, and our thoughts and prayers go out to the man.

Peace

Idea:

Perhaps one of the major Prince websites can set up a PayPal account and have flowers delivered on behalf of the site? If you got 200 people to donate $1, you should be able to get a nice arraingement.

I don't have a PayPal account, so I don't know how that all works, but it's just a thought...

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

I feel like I know John, not saying personally in a stalker fashion, it's just that listening to him and seeing him live, you can feel his spirit and soul when he drums. You can always feel John's essence when he plays. That is why this saddens me so deeply.
I'm an org elitist... totally unapproachable.

everytime I hear him play I will think of her....

"I named the cymbal after my daughter, Jia Kennie Blackwell. Jia means mercy, will and love in Japanese."

Just a note, Higgins is a very small town chapel, it will undobtedly be private. Please don't go there please give his family time to grieve.

I doubt P will go, too much noteriety, Please don't go looking for him, give John and his wife that day, to mourn their baby without being in the shadow of Prince.

Thank you for saying that.
I live in that town too.
Please allow them to be with family and friends.

Sending flowers would be nice...

There are few things worse than losing someone so precious so young in an accident. My thoughts are with John Blackwell and his loved ones.

As for the rest of us, please let's be safe. Yes, accidents will happen but the thing is that they don't need to. They are preventable -- all of them.

That's ridiculous. Sure, a LOT of em are preventable, but not all. Bad things just sometimes happen. Not long ago a family was killed locally by a tree that fell on their car while they waited at a traffic light. There had been no indication beforehand that anything was wrong with the tree. It had rained a lot recently and the thinking was that the rain may have contributed to the accident. It was deemed: just a "freak" accident.

In any event, I sure was sorry to hear about this. Nothing anyone can say will heal the hurt. Just time. That's all.
